Imagine the sounds of Miles, Diz and Hubbard blended together, and this will be it! Payton's unique tone is just fantastic!! Excellent ensemble playing too,with the guitar and vibes creating lovely textures. Check out the tasteful piano of Mulgrew Miller.

He is a good trumpet player. but this CD didn't do anything for me. The original songs on the CD were not very good. The standards that played were okay but nothing special.
