Let me share some of the things that happened on the way to this "moment in time." It started back when I didn't even know there was an Awakening Journey to go on. At the same time I knew that there was something more to life, even if I didn't know what it was! Thanks to some good friends who kind of dragged me to a couple of workshops, I started to go to seminars by Dr. Barbara Ray on The Awakening Journey®. And, being a very serious and well-trained student, I took lots and lots of notes (my mind said that I would be sure to "get it all" that way!). I kept remembering that Dr. Ray suggested reading back over notes as a support along the path, and I did that, too. Something in me really wanted to live from my Heart first rather than my mind first. The classes kept giving me more and more clues for ways that I could be Heart First every single day, no matter what was going on!
In April 2000 I began gathering selections from the notes I had taken, just to have a collection of some of the things that meant the most to me all in one place. It started sort of as a "convenience," since then when I needed a quick reminder in those moments of uncontrollable mental noise, there were all these great ideas all right there. As I rediscovered key directions and inspiring phrases that I had forgotten about, I became more and more excited about the wealth of material that Joyous Sun Ray has offered as "signposts" to point out ways to go on The Awakening Journey®. I also like being with a specific "seed" energy for each day, and some of the selections referred to the seasons and natural cycle of the year. So at some point I started to assign one selection to each day.
Finally I had all my notes put together, and I realized that it really was a book that a lot of people would find useful, enjoy, and benefit from in many ways in their daily lives. So, here it is! Enjoy!
