I first heard songs from this CD at my Church's annual picnic where someone had it in their boombox. I was instantly impressed and looked to see who the artist was. It was someone I had not heard of, so I noted the name in my head and purchased the CD at my first opportunity. The music is unique yet catchy. The lyrics are all very Christ-centered, while touching on a variety of different aspects of the Christian experience, and this is precisely the point; that whether we are strong or wounded, apathetic or excited, discouraged or hopeful, afraid or determined, sad or joyful, our life is centered in Christ Jesus. The timing of my purchase of this CD correlates to a very recent experience of being deeply wounded and the the song "Wounded Soldier" has really ministered to me. My overall impression of Mr. Jernigan is that these songs reflect what is in his heart. He isn't afraid of soundy "mushy" about how much he loves and depends on the Lord and because he has allowed himself to be transparent, he is able to minister to the body of Christ in a powerful way.

Dennis Jernigan is a praise/worship leader of incredible insight, and this "live" recording ranks as one of his best. Throughout the 13 tracks, Jernigan communicates the heart of God as few others do in today's world of Christian music. This is not music intended for background listening; it commands your full attention. From the opening song "We are Strong in the Lord", to the closing title track, "This is My Destiny", (which, by the way, is worth the cost of the CD alone!! Absolutely incredible....), this is praise and worship at it's best and it's most intimate.

Do not listen to this annointed CD unless you are prepared to shed tears from this remarkable, holy experience.

Dennis Jernigan is a soft-spoken, mild-mannered speaker with great information, and yet when he begins to play his piano and sing the songs he has written, it is life-changing. His message and heartbreaking story broke my heart, but "This is My Destiny" is the ultimate picture of victory.

this is a wonderful cd..i love the honest and totally heartfelt way that dennis sings to God..dennis is truly a gift to the body of Christ..

Never disapointing, Dennis Jernigan does it again with this great album of woraship music. From the first track, We Are Strong in the Lord, To the final cut this album ministers to the soul. Stand up for Jesus, is a classic DJ sounding praise anthem. Somebody Big, actually written when his pastor did a sermon based on the movie BIG, is a great song. It is one that sticls with you and reminds us that God is BIGGER! You Will Be My Rock, based on the sermon on the movie THE ROCK, is a great song as well. Make Me More Free, the album's next cut is a wonderful ministering song that reminds us that true freedom can only be found in Christ. The next memorable song from the album is in the ninth cut, Wounded Soldier. It will bring a lump in your throat as you think of the pain in our lives and the God who camne to heal the brokenhearted. You Are My Hero comes next and reminds us again that God is the hero in our most desperate moments. This Is My Destiny ends the album in a strong balad of God's plan for our lives. This is a GREAT album buy it and let the Lord minister to you. I also reccomend the book of the same name.

This Is My Destiny is a highly unusual song. I accidentally bumped into this song last year on a snowy Sunday morning with church cancelled. I didn't know anything about DJ before then. I was literally sucked into the song and couldn't stop listening to it. I cried every time (the first 20 in a row) I listened to it that morning and subsequently. I didn't realize how hungry my soul was for such intimate assurance from God until God blessed me with this heavenly 'breakfast' that morning. It was one of the few most healing moments since I experienced the most crushing blow in my life. I had the opportunity later to participate in a worship conference where DJ was present. I'll encourage anyone to get a hold of this and his other music. Meet him in person if possible to behold one of God's masterpieces of transformation in Jesus Christ who delivered him from a sexual perversion that is said to be unchangeable.

The last song of the CD--This Is My Destiny--is a highly unusual song. I am an a minister from Asia. I have had exposure to a wide range of Christian music for several decades. I like music that is good whether it's tradtional or contemporary. I accidentally bumped into this song last year on a snowy Sunday morning with church cancelled, and without knowing who DJ was, I was literally sucked into the song and couldn't stop listening to it until I forced myself to stop, after playing it about 20 times. It was so healing, like God telling me who I am in His eyes through the song in the most intimate way. I had the opportunity later to participate in a worship conference where DJ was present. I'll encourage anyone to get a hold of this and his other music. Meet him in person if possible to behold one of God's masterpiece of transformation in Jesus Christ who delivered him from a certain sexual perversion that is said to be unchangeable.

"This Is My Destiny" has been my favorite Dennis Jernigan praise & worship album ever since I bought it when it first came out in 1999. It was the first Night of Praise event of his I had ever been to, and the songs from this album touched me very deeply that night. I bought it afterwards and have listened to it repeatedly over the years. When I desire to spend some time in praise & worship of my Father in Heaven, I usually start with this CD.

When you listen to this album, you can tell that Dennis has written and sung from his heart. Dennis did not just record an album, he recorded a time of praise & worship of God.

Although every song in this album is powerful and will speak to you if you are willing to listen, my favorite is "You Will Be My Rock." I have listened and sung this song many times when I have felt that I have to face this life all alone, only to be reminded that Jesus is with me. My second favorite, "Somebody Big" helps to remind me that nothing is bigger than the Lord.

In addition to enjoying listening to and singing along with this album at home, more and more I find myself taking it with me to my job so that I can listen to it while I work. It has been a great stress reliever just to have it playing while I work.

If you are willing to allow the Lord to speak to you through song, this album is a great one to use. You will not be the same when the album, and the Lord, are done.

This Cd is awesome Cd. There is joy, hope, healing throughout all the songs. cd contain some of the most intimate songs, a heart that cries in worship, praise. got to have this cd. DJ. expresses his heart to God unlike any artist i Know. To hear his music and than hear what he dealt and struggled with in his life, would leave you to say "Look at the Merciful Saving Power of God, Coming into this man's life, making him a new creation, for there's nothing impossible with God."
DJ. leaves hope for those that are struggling with homesexuality proclaiming that through Christ Jesus you can be born again, made a new,set free. "it is a fact that he has been healed and people need to know that they too can be set free" Giving their lives to christ and turning away from their sins. Through the Blood of Jesus, there is Cleansing, there healing.
What ever your dealing, there is hope, in Christ Jesus the Savior
