Book Description

March 4, 2008
Team Shimano!

Born in Sakai - the city of bicycles, Yoshizo Shimano’s life story was destined to be intertwined with the story of the bicycle. This is My Road follows the journey of Yoshizo Shimano from being a mischievous young boy and his rite of passage to becoming the Chairman of Shimano Inc.

Founded by Shozaburo Shimano in 1921, Shimano Iron Works is now Shimano Inc. – a multinational corporation with over 7,700 staff members and offices in 21 countries. A proud producer of bicycle components, sport fishing equipment and recreational tools that allow people to enjoy nature and have a healthy lifestyle.

The company’s remarkable success can be owed to the foresight, resolve and flair of the Shimano family. Following their father’s dream, the Shimano brothers have led the company through more than 80 years of successful existence. A third generation now heads a company whose name has become synonymous with excellence.
