4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Salvage Projects March 1, 2012
Format:Paperback
The book features a bountiful group of projects including a faucet handle towel rack, cottage door dressing vanity, tub feet umbrella stand, fireplace front log rack, stair spindles console table, chimney pot landscape light, medicine cabinet message center, façade fragment tool holder, door casing pier mirror, metal ceiling tiles planter box, door knobs coat rack, kitchen sink outdoor bar, window picture frame, window guard pot rack, ceramic tiles tabletop, wood moldings window box, stained glass wall cabinet, wood corbels bedside table, iron urn garden fountain, interior door headboard, shutters cabinet doors and bath accessories jewelry holder. A few projects created by readers are also included - "My recycled garden retreat." "Our new reclaimed bath" and "A restored living room."

Good reference material is provided like the definition of what is salvage, how to shop for salvage, how to set-up a workshop and in the back of the book, listing of salvage resources in 34 states.

Personal preference will dictate whether the projects may interest the reader, but no matter what, the book illustrates many examples of what may be done with salvage materials and in doing so provide a place to begin the creative process and customize a home.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Projects, Great Ideas, Great Advice November 30, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
From suggested tools to great ideas. This is a good resource book. Nothing takes the place of personal talent and ideas but this book really motivates and offers some good suggestions. Love the "Before and After" pictures and the pictures of the project as it progresses. I also love any "inside" advise as to how to navigate around a flea market and acquiring the inside scoop when certain pieces are available in the supply warehouses.

Definitely a good book for someone looking to extend their library with creativity and inspiration
