I was lucky enough to meet Ralph II at a clinch mountain boys concert last month. Ralph was nice enough to give me a 5 dollar discount on his cd when I didnt have enough money on me for the full price. This is a great old school country album with a couple of bluegrass tunes thrown in for good measure. "Train Songs" is one of the best new bluegrass songs I've heard in years. It's a true bluegrass classic that could easily compete with the likes of Del Mccoury or even his father. The country songs here remind me of how great country used to be. Part Merle Haggard, part Johnny Cash, all bar room blues. It's a shame this stuff isn't on the radio.

This is a great, solid album that sounds like country did before it went all wrong. Great song choice, great voice - more like a low, lonesome sound as opposed to his daddy, Ralph Sr. I think you can get it autographed off his website.

I have seen Ralph II perform many times. This is his best album yet. I will not compare him to Dr. Ralph, as he has the makings to be his own great performer. He does hold true to the classic Stanley heart felt songs. The way he sings reminds me of Keith Whitley (also a great bluegrass/country performer). I agree with the other comments that this deserves play time on country stations. Well done II!!

This is a great CD. If you like bluegrass music then you will like this. The best Ralph II has done yet.

I almost did not do a review, as I couldn't think of anything interesting to say except this is a great CD. It is Country with a capital C. Ralph II sure can sing a song. You can't beat a country baritone. Nothing new here, but it sure is good to hear some real country. Too bad, it isn't on the commercial radio, but then he isn't a frustrated rocker, as far as I know!
