Review

"The Four Reminders, explained here, form the bedrock of Buddhist practice. Khandro Rinpoche has had the benefit of combining religious upbringing and training with modern education, which lends a refreshing contemporary clarity to her explanation."—His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama

"Khandro Rinpoche's teachings on the four elemental realities of our lives offer an inspired and vivid opportunity to connect with the profound simplicity of the Buddha's wisdom."—Sakyong Mipham, author of Turning the Mind into an Ally

"This is a gem of a book, and throughout Khandro Rinpoche is uncompromisingly direct in her discussion of topics that are often stumbling blocks for Westerners."— Buddhadharma

About the Author

Born in India in 1967, Khandro Rinpoche is the daughter of Tibetan meditation master His Holiness Mindrolling Trichen and is herself a renowned teacher in the Kagyu and Nyingma lineages of Tibetan Buddhism. I had the honor of attending Rinpoche's seminars twice in Boston and her book is a clear written version of her teaching style. For new students of Buddhism the book offers a succinct presenation of the fundamentals; for seasoned practioners it offers a true reminder of the basics and hopefully strengthens the practice.

This is a beautiful presentation of Tibetan Buddhist teaching about making the most of our precious life. It's based on many of her seminars and talks one of which I was able to attend. This is an excellent book that brings awareness and meaning to our lives.

I plan on keeping a copy of this book for the rest of my life. I can probably only say that with such certainty about ten books or so, and this would be one of them. Helpful for people interested in Buddhism at any level or even just at relieving anxiety from their lives. Reading it feels like drinking a cup of water - soothing and energizing at the same time.
