Jessica Simpson- *This Is The Remix*,
By A Customer
This review is from: This Is the Remix (Audio CD)
This cd is really cool, all the remixes are good and you really get your moneys worth. My problem like many others is it didn't have enough tracks and it didn't have the duet with her soon to be husband Nick from 98* (they get married in Oct. 2002). The remix with Bow Wow was cool it added a hip hop beat to the album.

Finally a Remix Album Worth Owning.,

This is the type of Remix album that I've been waiting for. After getting Jennifer Lopez's and Destinys Child I was very disappointed. While there songs where just variations on the original, Jessica Simpsons remixes or Dance Club remixes. Jessica gets the full dance remix treatment from some of the club scens top remixers such as Soul Solution, Lenny B, and Hex Hector. The best dance remixes are Lenny B's remix of I Think I'm in Love With You, Hex Hectors remix of Irresistable, and Chris the Greeks remix of A Little Bit. Jessicas voice is already powerful, but the remixers go all out making her voice soar above the techno beats. The only problem is that there are only 7 tracks. Where is Where You Are? Her duet with Nich Lachey.Other than that, a must have for all Jessica Simpson fans and club music fans.

A great collection of vinyl or promo only mixes.,

I'm not the biggest of Jessica simpson fans but I really enjoyed this cd a lot.It is missing her duet with future husband Nick Lachey on "Where You Are" but I already have it. The cd comes only with 7 songs and therefore the EP in the title. The first song is "I Wanna Love You Forever" and comes in single and Extended Soul Solution mixes. The Extended mix is 9:28 and a little nrg/house. Matches the over the top vocals. Then you get 2 mixes of "I Think I'm In Love With You by Club 69 main man Peter Rauhofer and Lenny Bertoldo. The Peter Rauhofer mix(9:19) is a promo mix that I guess is only found here. Not as good as the Lenny Bertoldo mix. This mix (9:39) was only on 12" vinyl and hit #31 on the club charts. This is very in tune with the song and vocals presented by Ms. Simpson. Then you get the Jermaine Dupri So So Def Mix featuring Lil Bow Wow of "Irresisible". This mix (3:34) was a huge hit on TRL and then you get the Hex Hector Club mix(8:53) and this I swear features a vocal sample of Debbie Harry from the UK only mix cd "Beautiful" of "Sunday Girl".Best mix on the cd. Then you get the Chris "The Greek" Panghi ang Guido Osorio Mix of "A Little Bit". This mix (7:48) works very well too. I think the concept of this cd is that Sony is trying to release a collection of promo and 12" vinyl singles on cd in this form similar to what Arista did to Lisa Stansfield in 1998 with all her promos on her Remix Ep. If so please release other artists from Sony Labels too in the future.

Dance track Diva,

As previous reviewers have noted, this album has been released probably due to the success of J Lo's remix album and DC disappointment remix album.Let's be clear on Jessica Simpson's version. This is not an album but rather a maxi-single packaged into an EP album. Included are 4 versions of I Wanna Love You Forever, two mixes of Simply Irresistible and the track A Little Bit. Dance club fans will notice the Hex Hector Club Mix of Simply Irresistible. The other version is with Lil Bow Wow. Again, another artist branching out of her normal audience to try and capture another audience, i.e. Jennifer Lopez. It works for some and doesn't for others, I will let you decide on this version. Overall, a great cd to dance around the house or jam out in the car. Jessica has vocals that soar beyond Britney. These teen divas in training have some powerful vocals and Jessica is one of them!

Okay she is no Mariah Carey (although often compared to her. Jessica doesn't song write as well as her.) She has Britney Spears appeal (although not as good as her.) Not as smart as Mandy Moore (wow it's a pattern) and doesn't have good voice compared to Christina Aguilera. She is average at all of them making her not have something that makes her the best. She does have the best realtiy show out of all of them. She is good at the moment as she is playing her cards well. Good for you Jessica Simpson.

Buy it for Peter Rauhofer, Lenny B., Hex Hector Mixes!!!,

That 3 mixes are the best mixes i ever heard from Jessica Simpson. I think the Lenny B.'s mix is the best mix he ever did. Hex Hector mix is one of the best club mixes you will ever hear - amazing - i love it! And if u want sth a bit harder then try Peter Rauhofer Mix (i love Peter - i had to buy this!) and the Chris 'The Greek' & Guido Osorio Club Mix (great beats and is pretty hard - oh yes!). Bought this CD only for the remixers - not for Jessica...

Jessica Simpson - Remixed.,

I don't consider myself a fan, or even a casual admirer, of Jessica Simpson. While she's clearly a decent singer with some potential, her music, often written by outsiders, has a wonder-bread blandness that has kept me from buying any of her studio albums. Her remixes, on the other hand, are a different story, as evidenced on this 7 track maxi single. "This is the Remix" is a collection of mostly hard-to-find tracks that are either unavailable commercially or appear only on vinyl. Some complain that it has only 7 tracks, but so what? Quantity isn't always quality. What DOES appear is, for the most part, pretty good. But I do not care for the Jermaine Dupri hip hop remix of "Irresistible" with Lil Bow Wow. It strikes me as both juvenile and predictable. Hex Hector's 8-plus-minute disco remix, however, works way better and is the surely one of the best tracks here. Soul Solution speed up the tempo of the ballad "I Wanna Love You Forever" and turn it into a decent club jam, and Chris "The Greek" & Guido's reworking of "A Little Bit" also stands out. When I first heard the original version of "I Think I'm In Love," I cringed at the sample of John Cougar's "Jack and Diane." It's got to be one of the worst songs I've heard in recent years. But DJ Peter Rauhofer comes to save the say with his club remix that literally transforms it from a dull and irritating single to a bonafide club anthem. There are obviously better remix albums out there, but I did find Jessica Simpson's "This is the Remix" a pleasant surprise. It hasn't converted me into a fan, but mainstream dance music lovers should give this a listen.
