1.0 out of 5 stars Just Terrible
While I have no problem with Christian romances in any way, this was just not a well written book. The dialogue between the two characters is so horrible! For a dollar I know I shouldn't be complaining but this book is a waste of time!

In the first couple of chapters I wasn't sure I would like this book. The heroine was a bit of a man-hater and the hero was a bit of a wimp. Obviously their parents agreed with me. They blackmail them into an arranged marriage and an isolated four month honeymoon in a cabin the middle of the Alaskan wilderness with no outside contact. Away from the distractions of modern life, they have a lot of time to think. Through this four month period they learn things about each other and about themselves. Since they are 30 and 27 year old virgins, sex is not a part of the learning process which is refreshing in a romantic novel. By the end of the book they've grown enough that I can like them and they have formed a bond that will last.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprising story, February 4, 2010

I will be honest, I downloaded this on my Kindle because it was pretty cheap and thought it would be a time filler. I was pleasently surprised because it really was a good book. The story is very well writtan and has a few twists and turns. What starts out as a typical romance story has some great quirks. I really enjoyed the characters the author created and plan on reading other books by this Author. If you are looking for a fun and light read, then this book is great. The formatting was great.

I was disappointed after reading the reviews. I cannot believe anyone could enjoy this writer. the plot was unrealistic, the characters were shallow and predictable. the dialog was the worst, corny and phoney. wasn't worth the $.99. nothing amusing, dramatic, romantic- just boring.

Ouch, what a terrible book.

1. The writing was terrible. Not realistic dialogue at all.

2. The ridiculousness of a couple ACTUALLY agreeing to an arranged marriage. Too much!

3. The "abstinence" message - way too preachy.

4. Unreal - In the very first chapter, the book reveals how unrealistic it will be. In a sexual harassment seminar of a couple hundred people, she points out the inappropriate dress of a woman there. Really? So unprofessional - yet we are supposed to respect the heroine.

5. The characters aren't likable.

Well, I wasted some time on this one, for sure.

I haven't checked, but I hope I didn't pay for it!

I will avoid this author!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the 0.99, February 1, 2011
This review is from: With This Ring, I Thee Dread (Kindle Edition)
The description of this book was intriguing so I decided to give it a go despite the lukewarm reviews. I wish I hadn't. The book was so slow and extremely boring. I seriously contemplated not even finishing it. The "chemistry" between the characters is pretty much non-exsistent and their quick turnaround towards each other is very unbelievable. The only interesting part was the subplot about his friends and the bank robbers.

Sadly, not a fan. The dialogue was as two-dimensional as the characters. A milquetoast read at best and to be perfectly honest I`d prefer my 4 hours back rather than the money.

Great vacation book. It is an easy read, a cute story, a little far fetched at points and not much of a plot, but I enjoyed it.

These books are light reading. Just the thing to read after some heavy reading. I love Ruth Ann Nordin. Her books are lots of fun. I've read others, too.

This is not a deeply involved story. It's light, with some humor, and fairly predictable. This is a nice book if you want a quick and easy read between big novels. If I had to choose one word to describe this story I would say "cute."
