KIERRA SHEARD: THE TRUE R&B, July 4, 2006
This review is from: This Is Me (Spec) (Audio CD)
This album is off the chain, from the beats to the lyrics, Kierra is using her talent for the right person. First of all, all these people talking about her secular sound, I think they have it backwards. God created the rap sound and the R&B sound, but it was meant to be used for him. God gave these people talent and gave them the choice to use it for him and these people chose not to. Rap and R&B sound is truely a gift that was supposed to be used for God and God only but since we live in a world of sin, it is not so. This album is a blessing from God and is truely the definition of a real R&B album.
Kierra, don't listen to the people that try to diss you because you use more than an old piano, old organ and a choir to praise. Jesus is a live God, not a dead and your music definately proves that.
GOD BLESS ALL!!!

There's a message in the music!!!, July 1, 2006
This review is from: This Is Me (Spec) (Audio CD)
This c.d. is refreshing to have in your collection. I am not going to front like I have been saved all my life. Before the Lord found me, I was a hip-hop and r&b head!!! So, to have and hear this c.d. is encouraging to me and can be a useful witnessing tool for those who are still lost. Everytime you hear KikI call on the Lord on this c.d., you know without a doubt that it is not secular, because her voice is anointed from above. We should all pray for her that the Lord continue to use her anointed and powerful voice for His glory! "Do not judge, or you too will be judged." Matt7:1aNIV

Excellent, October 26, 2006

I completely agree with the comments from Danny in Ohio. It seems like even with a variety of producers, Kiki has established a style that is uniquely hers. It is very creative and fresh-sounding.
I am thankful that we can have this type of diversity in spiritual music. I love all types of music, spiritual and mainstream, and in my opinion this is a perfect blend of The Message and current musical trends -- especially when you consider Kiki's age.
Kiki's age! That's worth mentioning. She sings with experience, wisdom, and power. That Clark musical gene is strong and you can hear shades of her mom and auntie often ... yet baby girl has a vibe all her own, and I thank God for it. This girl is already a talent beyond compare and I can't even imagine to what levels she's capable of rising to.
Some reviewers have said that this album "doesn't sound like Kiki." It does to me; I mean, if not her, who does it sound like? There are a lot of younger female singers (spiritual and mainstream) that have soprano voices and attempt to do vocal acrobatics. But Kierra is in a class of one and really can't be compared to any of them.
This is the expanded edition of THIS IS ME and the extra tracks are more than worth the premium over the regular edition. That set, with its 13 tracks, stands as a solid effort by itself. But if you know you can have more of what the Lord has blessed us with through this young lady of ministry, why miss out?
THIS IS ME is a job well-done, and clearly shows that the Clark legacy is alive, well, and kicking!
