5.0 out of 5 stars KIERRA SHEARD: THE TRUE R&B
This album is off the chain, from the beats to the lyrics, Kierra is using her talent for the right person. First of all, all these people talking about her secular sound, I think they have it backwards. God created the rap sound and the R&B sound, but it was meant to be used for him. 3.0 out of 5 stars Ummmm...what's going on!!!
I thought these were suppose to be reviews...not a message board. Any how I guess I first will start out by saying the cd had some pretty good beats, good vocals as always, some bad rapping... some christians just haven't grasped the art of knowing when a rap is good and when a rap is whack. Last and certainly not least the lyrics were pretty good as well. This is a good...

This album is off the chain, from the beats to the lyrics, Kierra is using her talent for the right person. First of all, all these people talking about her secular sound, I think they have it backwards. God created the rap sound and the R&B sound, but it was meant to be used for him. God gave these people talent and gave them the choice to use it for him and these people chose not to. Rap and R&B sound is truely a gift that was supposed to be used for God and God only but since we live in a world of sin, it is not so. This album is a blessing from God and is truely the definition of a real R&B album.

Kierra, don't listen to the people that try to diss you because you use more than an old piano, old organ and a choir to praise. Jesus is a live God, not a dead and your music definately proves that.

GOD BLESS ALL!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars There's a message in the music!!!, July 1, 2006
This review is from: This Is Me (Spec) (Audio CD)
This c.d. is refreshing to have in your collection. I am not going to front like I have been saved all my life. Before the Lord found me, I was a hip-hop and r&b head!!! So, to have and hear this c.d. is encouraging to me and can be a useful witnessing tool for those who are still lost. Everytime you hear KikI call on the Lord on this c.d., you know without a doubt that it is not secular, because her voice is anointed from above. We should all pray for her that the Lord continue to use her anointed and powerful voice for His glory! "Do not judge, or you too will be judged." Matt7:1aNIV

I completely agree with the comments from Danny in Ohio. It seems like even with a variety of producers, Kiki has established a style that is uniquely hers. It is very creative and fresh-sounding.

I am thankful that we can have this type of diversity in spiritual music. I love all types of music, spiritual and mainstream, and in my opinion this is a perfect blend of The Message and current musical trends -- especially when you consider Kiki's age.

Kiki's age! That's worth mentioning. She sings with experience, wisdom, and power. That Clark musical gene is strong and you can hear shades of her mom and auntie often ... yet baby girl has a vibe all her own, and I thank God for it. This girl is already a talent beyond compare and I can't even imagine to what levels she's capable of rising to.

Some reviewers have said that this album "doesn't sound like Kiki." It does to me; I mean, if not her, who does it sound like? There are a lot of younger female singers (spiritual and mainstream) that have soprano voices and attempt to do vocal acrobatics. But Kierra is in a class of one and really can't be compared to any of them.

This is the expanded edition of THIS IS ME and the extra tracks are more than worth the premium over the regular edition. That set, with its 13 tracks, stands as a solid effort by itself. But if you know you can have more of what the Lord has blessed us with through this young lady of ministry, why miss out?

THIS IS ME is a job well-done, and clearly shows that the Clark legacy is alive, well, and kicking!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Legacy Continues...., July 25, 2006
This review is from: This Is Me (Spec) (Audio CD)
And the Clark Sisters legacy continues with yet another member. Ms. Kierra Sheard has come into her own on this cd. Not only has her voice matured but her choice of production for this recording fit her to a 'T'. The songs are impeccable to render the heart that is wayward to return to Christ who is the ultimate answer. 'Have What You Want' is truly an encouragement to those that don't feel worthy enough to continue their walk with Christ, her brother J. Drew lends a productive hand and rap in this one and the (2) of them are the dynamic duo of LT productions. I purchased the special edition, which features songs not on the original cd, songs like 'Here I Am' that answers the call to those commissioned to serve the Lord. I recommend this cd to everyone!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars FeeFee is crazy for Jesus!!!!, June 28, 2006
This review is from: This Is Me (Spec) (Audio CD)
I think I agree with the person who is from Michigan we try to hard to be too Cecullar as Gospel artist, there should be a difference. Just like it is Heaven or Hell and no in between, it's either Gospel or Cecullar. What if God said you are going to Heaven but with a lil twist of Hell?Think about it! Anywoo, KiKi has an amazing voice and I just want her to be encouraged and keep using it for the Lord. I do jam the CD!! God Bless!!

5.0 out of 5 stars More creativity for the Glory of God., July 4, 2006
This review is from: This Is Me (Spec) (Audio CD)
Kiki is back and better than ever. They finally figured what style works best for her on this album and it works really well. DarkChild Gospel/Uncle Freddy did a good job with his songs that he placed on here. I'm glad to see DarkChild make a gospel label that includes Virtue's new CD Testimony.

I'm also glad to see creative artist begin use the creativity that God has given them and use it for the glory of God. Now, we're not stuck with one or two types of genre for Black gospel music.

This album is tight. One of my favorite song on the album is "Scream" because it exhorts you to praise the Lord, which was produced by PAJAM. I also like the song "Yes" that tries to exhort the listener to say "Yes" to the Lord. I also like the song "You're the Only One", because He's the only one that truly keeps us and the one we have to turn to in times of trouble.

The song "Hands Up" is a good song too, cause it wants you to raise your hands up for God to give Him thanks for His mercy for past mistakes and placing your faith in Him knowing that no weapon formed against you shall prosper.

I also like the song "Change" that desires change for the world. "No, Never" is a nice song too. It's probably the oldest feeling song on the album, but it sings about how she can't make it without Him. Then I like the song "You", which talks about wanting to walk with God no matter the distraction that may come.

The most interesting song on the album is "It is What it is", cause it talks about a conversation that you either you give your life to Jesus or you go to hell if you don't, it is what it is.

There are other good songs on this album, too. It's definitely better than the first. I can listen to this album often, especially in the car and at work. This is definitely a good addition for the contemporary gospel genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Is Her For Real, July 19, 2006

When I got this CD the cashier went crazy man saying nothing but good things about this cd she said it is one of the best gospel cd's of this year. The production on the special edition is so sick she went all the way on this joint for real and J drew her brother is going to be the next darkchild his beats are so tight on this cd. I was so pumped after listening to this CD I am truly blessed and feeling a lot better about something I'm going through. The messages that Kierra has put on wax went to my soul man I'm telling you she made this cd for the youth that are around her age that really really need the word in their lives and whom are going through difficult situations school, family, friends and whatever and me being a young guy i appreciate that "Good Look KiKi"
