I ordered four different versions of the "Eat This Not That!" books...thinking that they each had something unique for me to learn...not so. Just buy one they all say about the same thing. The books offer an interesting additional concept to your healthy eating practices.

I love this book. I can go to the grocery store a little better armed with the knowledge of what is best for my family. The only thing I don't like about this book is that it doesn't necessarily discourage one from eating certain foods that we know are already unhealthy for us but tells us which unhealthy foods are on the better side of the line. That's why I call it a supplement. However, I love, LOVE the chapters that talk about foods that are beneficial for certain areas of your health. There's a chapter on foods for blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar. There are blurbs about foods that will help with stress, mood, energy, feeling slim, metabolism, sleep, illness, libido, fertility, work outs, skin.......lots of interesting useful info. AND, if you're a person or a family that likes to eat out, this is a great guide to dishes out there that are surprises in the areas of calories and sodium intake. Very useful resource.

This book is a great publication. The quality of the book and pages are superior, and it's very different from the other "EAT THIS NOT THAT" books. I purchased several of the others and I'm glad I did. They are not repetitious. I recommend purchasing it.

This book is really an eye opener. Before reading it, I never really grasped how calorie-filled the food I ate really was. I've noticed changed just weeks after I started following their guidelines.

Superior Presentation of Essential Information!,

This review is from: Eat This Not That! The Best (& Worst!) Foods in America!: The No-Diet Weight Loss Solution (Hardcover)
Eat This Not That! (The No-Diet Weight Loss Solution) is highly informative for everyone, but life-changing for many! I've been reading health books for many years. Without a doubt, this book is up at the top of the list because of the accessability and quality of the information.
For those of us living in the real world, presented with real choices in a life on-the-go, the authors have zoomed in on the real issues we face every day. Yes, we will sometimes eat a candy bar, no matter how we intellectually understand that it's bad. However, there is bad, and there is much, much worse. The finest example of this is the Twix 2-ounce package, that delivers not just candy, but enough fat to rival ELEVEN SLICES OF BACON. Now, that is the kind of information that could prevent a heart attack! Make no mistake -- the book is helping us choose between (as per this example) from an array of snack foods. It's not about Twix bars vs. a head of steamed cabbage. Also, when the food industry labels some items in a way that suggests the product is "healthy," it is sometimes anything BUT. I consider myself to have an awareness of what's good and bad, and this book has given me reason to take even more time to stop and read those "healthy" labels. This book will also help you select the best in restaurants, fast-food, beer, salads, pizza, drinks and more. There's also information on the best foods to fight high blood-pressure, high cholesterol and blood-sugar issues. The issues addressed are extensive! My greatest satisfaction was in giving this book as a gift to a friend, who commented, "I had no idea that I was picking out all the wrong stuff." Mission accomplished! This book is worth every penny!

Everone who eats out alot should have this book. Its a real eye openner. You will be amazed of the foods that are bad for you,and the one's that are good.
Salads are the worst at some of the fast food chains, and the Burgar King Whooper is over 1400 calories. This book names the best and worst Restaurants, and the best foods to order when you eat there.I can't get enough of this book, even though some reviewers are saying if you bought the first one, don't bother with the rest of the collection.

Lot of Helpful Info,

This review is from: Eat This Not That! The Best (& Worst!) Foods in America!: The No-Diet Weight Loss Solution (Hardcover)
"Eat This and Not That" is a guide to eating healthier and reducing caloric intake for those who eat out and eat primarily at fast food restaurants in our "drive-thru society." One possible solution to additionally add is: do *not* eat at fast food restaurants. With these words of wisdom, the problem is solved.
However....with our brief lunch break and long commutes in our age of being in hurry and having to do more with less time, many of us eat fast fast food out of convenience. We honestly may not want to eat this stuff, but we do. In "Eat this not that" there is ample breakdown of caloric amounts. Buy having this information you can literally save thousands of calories a day. A lot of the caloric, sodium, sugar, and fat gram information is included and quite surprising. The focus is on fast food and supermarket junk food, but this is a health book, and it's focus is counting calories. Hydrogenated oils, and fructose corn syrups are also included and very important for people to be aware of. Many fast food choices that seem to be "healthier" or have less calories are often far worse than we think. Fast food has high caloric density, meaning a small item can have massive amounts of calories, fat, and sodium. Sodium is the hidden killer in fast food and restaurant foods. When we eat meals containing dangerous levels of sodium we cannot even taste it and tell it's loaded with salt. This book suggests swapping the worst choices for better choices. Some readers wanted content on Protein and minerals in these fast foods. Folks, if you feel you need to know this info - don't eat fast food. The macros of Protein/Carb/Fat ratios are negligible. Don't stand on a pair of empty train tracks in the country-side on the lookout for low flying airplanes. Small sweet tooth snack foods in the supermarket, and a seemingly healthier option in a restaurant can add thousands of calories to you in only a single day. My personal favorite in my fast food days was the Sausage McMuffin with Egg at the early morning drive-thru on the way to work. That little tasty treat has 450 calories, 50% of my daily fat intake, 87% of my daily cholesterol limit, and 39% of my daily sodium limit. And this is in, just one. In this book the chapters are categorized very well: Snack food, frozen foods, salads, sushi, additives, drive-thru, pizzas, sandwhiches, alcoholic beverages, and chapters focusing on blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar, among others. The "Foods For Kids" chapter is really important for those with kids. "Eat this not that" by David Zinczenko packs a lot of info that you can access in seconds. It's not a "health" or "diet" book, but it is an informative book on how you can be healthier.

These books will make you think before you order/eat. Learn great subs to make little changes that matter in your diet.
We have several of these books and I refer to them all the time and even my kids have read or thumbed through them--even my seven year old quoted the book and one of the suggestions in the supermarket recently, so they are easy to read and great books.
