A Good Start - 4.5,

This is my first book by Ms. Green and I though it was a good start to the series. Alex has been given the big responsibility to run her family's company which her dad and brother aren't too happy about. Then she finds out that her husband has dies and he had two other wives. Her brother-in-law whom she's never met sends his friend Hunter to get her and this were the ride begins. Alex never loved her husband but she needed validation for her family and he was it. Hunter showed her she didn't know validation and he showed her how it is to be loved. I enjoyed the book and cracked up and some of Alex antics and her dog Little Sweetie was funny too.

I see by my fellow book reviewers that they didn't care for this novel. I on the other hand kinda like it. The characters were interesting and fun and they also made me laugh. This novel is part of a trilogy so I'm hoping that the other two parts are just as good as this one.

I finished Brenda Jackson's JUST DESERTS the finale to THE THREE MRS FOSTERS series and I must say all the books in the series are fantastic. For me THIS TIME FOR GOOD started out making me laugh and although Alexandria seemed a little ditzy she proved to be quite crafty and definitely the woman Hunter needed to bring adventure and fun into his life.
All three books from this series are a must read. The continuity between the stories flow effortlessly and keeps the reader connected with each couple throughout the storylines. I loved the fact Alexandria termed the trio wives-in-law lol, only Alex could coin that wacky phrase and make it work. Hunter was not only way too serious, he didn't trust easily especially after a career threatening injury destroyed his relationship with the women he loved and came close to destroying his will to overcome, heal and move on with his life. Alexandria's mother proved to have as strong of a spirit as her daughter, I would love to know if there is a secret between her and the Judge??? Sweetie needs a playmate, LAWD knows that dog is spoiled rotten. I enjoyed this first step getting to know the Foster wives-in-law, great job Carmen.

Mrs. Green I hate to be the first to rate your book but here goes.
I began reading your books with the anticipation of this book. I loved the Crawford family books, but I'm sorry I could only give this book 2.5 stars. The love connection that leading lady and the leading man shared was never revealed until the night that she broke down crying . I didn't even know that she was attracted to him. The leading lady was dingy, unrealistic and ridicules. There was not enough imagery and physical description of characters to make you click with them. The interaction between the characters was strange and unrealistic. You have to read it to believe it. I was very disappointed with this book. I expected more character development, romance, and better character interaction from this author. If you want to give this author a chance you would do better to read any of her Crawford family books, with them you won't be disappointed.

This Time For Good....a great escape....,

This book was not the best but it was not that bad either. I liked the main character. She showed development and was not the typical "I got it all together" or "a dramatic experience made me this way". She was real. I don't read romance novels for reality I read them to escape it. And in a crowded airport with travel delays it was a nice one day read...and provided that escape. Ms. Green could you do better next time? Always. But this time you didn't do half bad. Thanks for the story and keep writing!

... It was whack to death. I don't know what else to say about the book because I didn't finish it. To me it for some reason it was a hard read. It didn't flow. I don't know. Maybe you should listen to me. I only got to page 70 before I quit.

This was a good read. I actually purchased this book as it was part 2 of 3 or 3 of 3. I read the first book by another author and it was also good. Carmen Green is one of my favorite authors. Keep the romance coming!!!!

Totally Sucks,
This review is from: This Time For Good (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the first book that I have read by this author and it totally sucks. I was looking forward to reading it because it is part of a series but after only reading the first couple of pages I wonder why did I even bother. The main female character is so self-centered and a real air head. If someone calls to tell you that your husband was just killed I don't know many people who would take the time to scan someones drivers license and all the other little silly stuff. I wish I could give this book away but I want make my friends suffer.

I WAS HOOKED IMMEDIATELY,

I AM SO GLAD I DON'T LET OTHER'S OPINION SWAY ME WHEN IT COMES TO READING A BOOK, IF I HAD I WOULD HAVE MISSED OUT ON A TREAT. I LOVED THE WAY ALEXANDRIA CAME OFF A LITTLE INNOCENT AND DITZY BECAUSE IT MADE ME WANNA "NOW TAKE THAT", WHEN SHE WOULD SURPRISE EVERYBODY WITH HER SPUNK AND GRASP FOR HANDLING CRAZY SITUATIONS. JUST GOES TO SHOW YOU SHOULD NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER OR A PRETTY FACE BY ITS OUTWARD APPEARANCE. SOME OF THE OTHER REVIEWERS SAID ALEX'S DYSFUNCTIONAL FAMILY WAS UNBELIEVEABLE, BUT I GUESS THEY ARE LUCKY NOT TO HAVE TRUE CRAZY MONEY GRUBBING PEOPLE IN THEIR FAMILY, BECAUSE I COULD DEFINITELY RELATE. YOU JUST NEVER KNOW HOW CRAZY FAMILY IS UNTIL THERE IS A LOT OF MONEY TO BE DIVIDED OR INHERITED. I LOVED THE WAY ALEX KEPT HER COOL, NEVER YELLED, BUT HANDLED BUSINESS. AND IN MY OPINION THERE WAS NEVER A QUESTION AS TO WHETHER HUNTER WAS INTERESTED IN ALEX OR THAT THEY HAD CHEMISTRY, HE HAD TO WRESTLE WITH HIS CARNAL SIDE FROM THE MOMENT HE SAW ALEX FOR THE FIRST TIME. I FEEL THEY COMPLIMENTED EACH OTHER, HE HAD A HARD TIME RECOGNIZING HE NEEDED AND WANTED HER IN HIS LIFE AND SHE WAS A FREE SPIRIT. I CAN'T WAIT TO READ THE OTHER BOOKS AND THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT "THIS TIME IS FOR GOOD" WAS AN EXCELLENT START TO THE FOSTER WIVES SERIES AND I HOPE POTENTIAL READERS WILL NOT ALLOW THE NEGATIVE VIEWS OF PEOPLE WHO PROBABLY SPEED READ THE BOOK SWAY THEM FROM EXPERIENCING THIS BOOK FOR THEMSELVES. GREAT JOB CARMEN GREEN!!!!!

This review is from: This Time For Good (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I really enjoyed reading about Alex. She was so hilarious. I couldn't put the book down until I had finished it. I really like Carmen Greens books that I have read. This book I had to read twice because I enjoyed it so much. It had me ready to read the other women's stories and see what they had in store.
