A graduate of Hyde Park Career Academy, St. John earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Northwestern University.

Loved it. This is a great book with believable characters and a well thought out plot. It was a nice reminder of the other book in the series. I enjoyed the main characters and catching up on the old ones. I loved that Peyton and Malik switched off from being the alpha dogs in the relationships. Peyton was the one not sure of a relationship and Malik pursued her and won her over. Just when things started to look up, Malik became unsure and Peyton was not having it; she let Malik know we are going to fight for us.

The secondary characters all add to the story line and make the story rich. I enjoyed the male vulnerability shown in a few of the characters and respected that the woman did not try and take advantage of the fact. Kids all growing up in foster care and staying very close friends in their adult life is wonderful departure from the stale story lines found in romance books today.

Buy this book you will not be disappointed.

This story is about Peyton Sawyer a 5 year widowed college Professor that moves to New York to start her life over. She has lost the love of her life and has decided she needs a new start but not in the love department. She meets Malik Williams and is so attracted to him at first site that it frightens her. Malik can not get over the abuse he suffered in his past as a child nor the resentment that he feels for his Mom who he feels chose his step-father over him and didn't stop the abuse he suffered as a child. He doesn't believe in love because of this and fights his growing attraction for her. Until he can deal with his past with help from Peyton and his friends from the orphanage, he finds that he may lose the best thing that ever happened to him. This is a great story from the first page to the last.

I couldn't put this book down = not sure where the 2 star reviewer is coming from but I thought it was FANTASTIC. Have just downloaded the third book in this series and can't wait to start it = have just discovered Ms. St. John and I love everything I have read by her so far - hopefully her older stuff will be put on KINDLE.
