Syleena Johnson is a undermarketed soul singer, as was her father in the 70's. This album is 15 tracks of expertly-crafted foot-stompin soul tracks, just like they stepped out of the 70's. This hard-to-find gem is full of rich horn arrangements, Hammond B3 organ, and soulful singing by Syleena and Syl. Some touches of blues and reggae style backbeat. No samples, hip hop, disco, or high-tech studio chops here. They bring me back to Patti LaBelle and Ronald Isley on Sooouuuul-Traaaain! If there's a cure for this, I don't want it!
