What a find!,

This is a fabulous second disc by a fabulous group of highly talented, innovative, and creative musicians and singers. What makes this disc so special is the seemless blend of folk, jazz, and even klezmer influences that feels totally right all the time. Thus old favorites, such as This Train, get a new and evocative new feel. The instrumentalists are tops, and the biggest thrill of all is three--count 'em, three!--female vocalists, all of whom shine whether in solo or in harmony.

This CD is incredible. It has a jazz beat with bluegrass harmony - an amazing mesh of musical styles. I would love to see these same three ladies stick around for a third album. Also, it would be great if the toured more frequently.

Wayfaring Strangers draws from a wide range of traditions, mainly bluegrass and jazz, as well as klezmer, to create a very well-crafted album. Unfortunately, this sometimes contributes to a labored feel on some of the songs, including the title track. But the CD has some great moments as well, especially the soulful "Who'll Sing for Me?" All three vocalists are top-notch, as well. The Wayfaring Strangers bring a lot to the bluegrass table, and the album should be commended.
