True music, November 20, 2000
This review is from: This Vicious Cycle (Audio CD)
This is a great record. The more you listen, the more addictive the songs become. I actually got to witness the recording of some of this album, and now to see that people are buying it and enjoying it lets me know that the cd is as good as i thought it would be. I have alot of confidence in this band. Not only are they talented musicians, but they are good friends. There is something to their music that hooks you, although i still can't figure out exactly what it is. It's great to hear someone really singing over good melodic music. There is too much re-hashed garbage out there which keeps excellent music like this from being heard by most people, and that is unfortunate. I'm sure they will go far, so keep an eye out.

Good Lifetime-Esque Emotional Punk, November 9, 2000
This review is from: This Vicious Cycle (Audio CD)
Junction 18 sounds like a much poppier version of Lifetime; for the most part. The lyrics are well-written, and the musicianship is very good as well. Fearless Records classifies them as a mix between Weezer and Saves the Day, but I really don't here any Weezer in the mix of things. Anyways, so long as your not totally opposed to the ever so popular emo/punk hybrid, you should go buy this CD right away.

Easily the best "pop/punk emo" CD of all time., March 22, 2003
This review is from: This Vicious Cycle (Audio CD)
That's right, not only is this the best I've ever heard, it is certainly the best ever. I'm not a huge fan of the genre, but I bought this for no particular reason at a store when I saw they were on Fearless, and I'm very glad that I did. Sweet Steps, June and the Ocean, Granite Street Knife Fight, Adrift, Lucky as Mars, and Lost in Adeline are the best, but of course all the songs are terrific. Above the Avenue is my least favorite, it sounds slightly too much like Blink 182 to me, but I still enjoy it. Anyway, there's nothing much else to say. Just buy it.
