Seattle is so lucky to house the band, Minus the Bear. They are remarkable live, and this cd lives up to their live shows. If you have gotten to a place where you are dissapointed in music in general, listen to this because it will give you faith in the innovative possibilities music has to offer.

i don't know what that other person was talking about. i don't really consider minus the bear "emo" at all. anyway, this is really good, ambient yet energetic music. he(or she) was right about that part. it's sophisticated yet retains a simple beauty. a lot of the guitar parts are fingertapped, and it's intricate, but it impresses and exhilarates at the same time. this CD is amazing and well worth the money. i can't wait for the full length. their live show was incredible too.

there's this bizarre undertone of modesty and shyness in the music; bizarre because of their exceptional and obvious talent. sometimes people get blow-up heads (ref. blow up dolls/egolomania) like mr. oye but these lads have got it. i think they deserve an unsopken tribute---not a public memoral park or statue necessarily, but at least someone should name a good cocktail after them. one with raspberry liquer and vodka and champagne--for starters.
