This Is What You Get,
By Kathy Weigle (La Feria, TX United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: This Is What You Get (Audio CD)
I got my Efatha CD from an aquaintance who had apparently grown tired of the genre. I really don't see how that's possible. Efatha, while, in my opinion, doesn't have the best sound, it does have a moving presence. The guitar and vocals are mediocre (not bad by any means; just not great either). However, the lyrics are quite powerful. I'm sure that track 4 has been viewed as controversial, but whether you are a Christian or not it is in no way offensive. I am a Christian and find the frankness refreshing. It speaks of the insincerity of the church today with such heart. Track 13 is one of my favorites. Again, while the vocals aren't really anything to write home about, the lyrics are deeply moving. I would definitely recommend this to just about anyone.

I Can't Believe This Is The First Release For This Group,

This review is from: This Is What You Get (Audio CD)
When I placed the CD into my disc player it was like presto... the music was instantly engaging. Definitely strectching the standard of acoustic music, Efatha provides thought provoking lyrics missing in so many groups today.

What a diverse compilation of music!!,

It was intriguing to hear Efatha go from a melodic melancholy instrumental to a passionate driving guitar piece. Beautifully woven songs.
