What is Laughter?,
By Jessie Fraser (Montana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Thistle and the Shell of Laughter (The Fairy Chronicles, Book 3) (Paperback)
It is a pretty cute idea this book puts forth, that laughter is made of things like bubbles, tickle feathers, birdsong, and other things, all mixed up in correct proportions inside the manufacturing plant of the Shell of Laughter. The fairies have to figure out what has happened when the shell goes missing, and they have to go on a mission to get the shell back. I also like the idea that laughter is spread by various winds. My daughter liked the hedgehog best in this story. I only wish the books of this series had illustrations. That is pretty much the only thing I would change about this book. Otherwise, the story is wonderful.

I baught these books for my daughter who just learned to read she will be in first grade this year and just loves fairies. She loves these books as well as drawing and pretending shes the characters in the stories. I would highly recommend it to any one whose child can read at least at a 2nd grade level and loves fairies and using their imagination.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Thistle and the Shell of Laughter (The Fairy Chronicles, Book 3) (Paperback)
I like fairies alot. My mom got me this book. The fairies are cute. Thistle is Grace and she gets along with brownies.
The shell is fun. Part of the shell is a joke. You will know what I mean when you read it. I read it twice. I like it a lot. Unicorns like apples.

A Fun Fun Book,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Thistle and the Shell of Laughter (The Fairy Chronicles) (Paperback)
This is a book I read this summer and I read it last summer. I am nine now. It was fun this time too. The book cover jacket has two unicorns on it because two unicorns come to the Fairy Circle the fairies have when they get together for Christmas. Grace is the fairy Thistle. She takes the fairies to the elf cave to find the Shell of Laughter. It is not in the cave where it is supposed to be. She goes into the dark forest with the other fairies and they find the shell. Anyone will like reading this if they get that far. They will like the elf and Tom the leprecaun because he is funny. Snickers is a hedgehog and he is funny too. I liked this book this summer because it was fun and about fairies.

Thistle and the Shell of Laughter,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Thistle and the Shell of Laughter (The Fairy Chronicles) (Paperback)
Thistle is a fairy. It is just before Christmas, and she is at a sleepover with her friends. They go to Fairy Circle and see unicorns. The Shell of Laughter is stolen from an elf who takes it around the world so everyone will have laughter. Thistle goes to find the shell. Other people help her. A hedgehog giggles and helps her. They go through the forest and find the shell and a mean spirit who stole it. The end is happy because there will be laughter in the world again. The fairies go home for Christmas. I liked this book, and I will read it again.

A wonderful series! Realistic fairies come alive before your eyes!,

J. H. Sweet ...
What a treat ... Writing 'bout fairies, she can't be beat. Book one was pure delight; Book two is "out of sight." Book three is a kid's dream, Book four will make them beam. But wait till you see what's in store; of fairy books, she has plenty more. Each of this author's books stands alone as far as storyline, and I discovered something new about fairies and fairy lore in each one. She's a fine writer, so good at her craft that the fairies came alive for me. Interesting storylines, colorful characters in an exciting, entertaining format. Highly recommended. |
