This is a fantastic product that does just what it's supposed to in a high-quality and attractive way. One thing, and it's important - The original iteration of this product had locking tabs that held the brass face plate to the plastic box. So many of these broke or got severely stressed and weakened during setup that the company redesigned the product. Now, you can tell if you're purchasing the redesigned product by checking for threading (just like a bolt or screw) on the plastic case just under the brass face plate. (The packaging is clear, so this is easy to do.) If, instead of threading, you see three tabs, then DON'T buy it. You will almost certainly break or weaken the tabs when separating the two pieces. The Home Depot nearby still had both types (though the older type was looking pretty dusty, and one of the packages had been opened and returned [broken tabs, by the way].)

As the product is designed and sold now, the brass face plate screws onto the plastic box and it feels very, very strong and secure.

Having said all of this, what a pleasure the final product is to work with, and it looks really great. The ability to drill a perfectly sized and utterly snug hole into a floor removes the worst and most error-prone (in my opinion) part of a standard rectangular box installation. Also, the end result just looks way better and is, on net, smaller and closer to the floor than standard rectangular plates I've worked with.

I would have given it five stars if not for the fact that the recessed outlet wiggles a bit when I insert a plug, and doesn't feel as well-built as the rest of the unit. A very minor issue and the product is excellent overall.

Great product. We used it for adding an outlet in our hardwood floor and also to put outlets on both sides of our kitchen's island. They look nicely finished, and are a great alternative to a big plug. The cap covers them when they are not in use. They are a single plug so they need to be put exactly where you need the outlet.

Receptacle is well made, installs quickly and looks great. Brass screws were not with unit I received. Hole saw does not work for oak flooring.

I bought two and installed. Easy to install, but the plastic boxes were lighter than I expected. All in all, straightforward and good install.

This is great looking solution if you need an outlet in your floor. The solid brass cover has an o-ring seal and should protect it during floor cleaning. One note: The depth of the outlet might prevent installation if you have 2x6 floor joists and a finished ceiling below.

Just what i needed. Kit was as advertised and installed without a problem.
Shipping was timely.
Will buy again when needed.
