What an adorable lamp! It was a Christmas present for a Downs child who is nonverbal at age 6. Despite the lack of a vocabulary, he easily expressed his delight in his Thomas lamp. I was impressed by how detailed and sturdy it was, though I would like to see it handle a larger light bulb. It is not too much brighter than a night light.Oh, and I did not expect it to have educational value. I just wanted it to delight a child.

The lamp is very nice and my grandson is crazy about anything Thomas. The problem is with the manufacturer. The lamp arrived with a smashed lampshade and I still, after many months and numerous emails, have not received the new shade. I have been told many times that it will be on its way, but have yet to receive the shade.
