4.0 out of 5 stars I was surprised
I was excited to get this for my son because he loves "lizbith truck". I gave it to him and i swear within seconds he showed me the reason to take it away...the bed of the truck comes off very easily. i took it away because he's two and a half and loses everything, the last thing i need him to lose is half of elizabeth. So now i am saving her till he gets a bit older and...

2.0 out of 5 stars Falls apart easily!
We love everything about Thomas. This one however is a disappointment. My son is three years old, and takes very good care of his toys, and is very gentle. So I was surprised that he handed it to me to be fixed the very first minute he got it. He loves to play with it because the back pops open, but it drives me crazy to fix it all the time. If it falls apart, it...

I was excited to get this for my son because he loves "lizbith truck". I gave it to him and i swear within seconds he showed me the reason to take it away...the bed of the truck comes off very easily. i took it away because he's two and a half and loses everything, the last thing i need him to lose is half of elizabeth. So now i am saving her till he gets a bit older and will play nicer with her and not lose her bed. Other than it coming apart to easily, it's great. He loves how you push the button and it raises the bed. So, unless you child is not as rough with or is not so inclined to take things apart (like mine), then i highly recommend this. If not, wait till they are a bit older.

So I was surprised that he handed it to me to be fixed the very first minute he got it. He loves to play with it because the back pops open, but it drives me crazy to fix it all the time. If it falls apart, it would have been okay if it is made for little ones to fix it themselves but it is not. If I had know this, I would still buy it, but only because we are avid collectors, but it is not to be played with.

2.0 out of 5 stars brakes off all the time!, August 20, 2004
This review is from: Thomas & Friends Elizabeth the Vintage Lorry (Toy)
this was our first female to join our Thomas family @ home. what a disappointment. I love Thomas because my 3 1/2 yr old is kept very busy. however, I find myself always having to put her Elizabeth back together. These trains are pricey and should not fall apart. He get's discouraged and ends up not playing with her. so much for girl power!

My 4 year old has tons of Thomas trains but this is the first one I think is real garbage. He got it yesterday for his birthday and the lorry bed came off in his hand within a few seconds. It has these stupid little pegs to keep in on that don't hold with anything but require more fine motor skills to reattach than a 4 year old has. Shame on the manufacturer for making such a poorly designed piece of junk and selling it for so much money.

2.0 out of 5 stars Elizabeth falls apart, June 25, 2006
This review is from: Thomas & Friends Elizabeth the Vintage Lorry (Toy)
I didn't know the back truck part of Elizabeth would come off so easy. It is too hard for my 3 year old to put her truck piece back on and now the part is missing. Would have been better if it just lifted and lowered instead of coming detached.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Positive Review for Elizabeth!, September 22, 2010

Yes it is true that the bed comes off SOMEWHAT easily, BUT it does stay on MOST of the time! My son is 2, he plays rough with his toys- and EVEN then- it doesn't come apart often enough for me to complain- and it is easy enough for me to reattach (it snaps back on)! Realistically, it happens only once or twice a day- which is not that big a deal to me (especially since he is having so much fun)!

I don't want to be confusing- but the following info would have helped me in deciding to purchase, "product comparison"- and I hope this helps anyone interested in Elizabeth who might have these other wooden Thomas friends...
We almost didn't get Elizabeth because of all of the negative reviews--- and because we have Madge (the flatbed truck with a terrible design that does not stay attached) and these reviews made me think it would be like that. Please know that this is nothing like that design!
Elizabeth works like a dump truck (like Monty and Max) so she has a hinged bed, which makes playing with her even more fun. If you happen to have Monty & Max, Liz's bed does not come off any more often than theirs (it is almost the same design).

Bottom line: I am so glad we decided to get Elizabeth in spite of these negative reviews because my son LOVES playing with her and she is one of his favorites- even over some of his newer additions!! If you have a Thomas fan- I highly recommend this!

3.0 out of 5 stars We like Elizabeth but I am sick of putter her together all day!, October 25, 2006
This review is from: Thomas & Friends Elizabeth the Vintage Lorry (Toy)
Great toy but I am sick and tired of putting her trailor back on all day. My son constantly pops the trailor off when he is dumping the cargo out. Its probally one of the only THomas toys we have a problem with.
