Push Along Thomas is a hybrid: he looks like a train but moves like a car. Based on the character from the book and television series Thomas the Tank Engine, this plastic locomotive measures 9 inches long. Toddlers can practice walking by pushing the extended handle to move Thomas along. Fortunately, the long handle is detachable, so prewalkers can roll him across the floor by gripping the handle attached to the roof. Turn on the power switch, give the train a gentle push, and hear a short, upbeat song. My son got this toy for a Christmas present when he was 18 months old. At first, as a late walker, he was content to just push it around the house. He is a little over three now, and he likes to pretend it is a lawn mower, vacuum cleaner, etc. The handle is easy to detach and he also pretends to use it in various ways. The toy plays a short, happy, and fairly quiet "Thomas" melody when pushed, but it's not necessary for fun - our batteries gave out a while ago and we haven't replaced them, but our son is still interested in this toy.

Don't get me wrong, we really like Thomas the Tank. However, this is not a great toy. The handle comes off way to easy and it arrived with batteries like it said but they don't work and they are specialty batteries (like watch batteries) so we still don't have batteries. For the price get something else.

This is a cute toy but the handle does come off too easily. My little boy walks but everytime he trys to push this toy the handle the handle comes off. He does like to just play with the thomas on the floor. You can proberbly find something better for the money.
