This is a great book and CD read along for the Thomas Fan. My son really enjoys read along books & was thrilled to get a Thomas Read Along. We own most of the Disney Read Along CD sets and love them because of the great stories and the turn the page signals on the CD's. Sometimes you buy a read along and when you play it, you sadly find out it does not have page turn signals... I bought this book hoping there would be page turn signals and there are!!! Pop in the CD and your child can listen to three great Thomas stories in a 40 minute period. The narrator of the stories does a great job reading with expression and changing the voices of the different trains. Music usually starts each story and there are a few sound effects within the stories. The book is super colorful and should keep the attention of a 4 to 7 year old. This would be a great addition to any read along library. Load the CD to your ipod and your child can listen to it anywhere! Hope you enjoy it as much as we are!!!

A great combo, book has 4 medium-length stories, DVD is 40 mins. My son sometimes listens to stories on his portable CD player before bedtime and this is perfect. Note: The Thomas and the Castle story talks about ghosts, my 3 year old wouuldn't listen to it at first because he was scared. He's just about to turn 4 and is fine now.

My son is a Thomas fan and I love this new way to entertain him with these stories. I like to limit his TV time, so this a good alternative. My son is 3 1/2 years old and enjoys listening to this 45 minutes CD while reading the stories. The chime tells him when to turn the page, although it doesn't take him long to memorize a story anyway. Each story is on it's own track. The fourth story about Thomas and the Magic Railroad seems a bit far fetched from the original Thomas stories, it's too much like a "super-hero" story, but the others are all true to Thomas style. This is definitely a great, inexpensive gift for any little one who enjoys Thomas.

My 4-year-old son is learning how to read and loves Thomas so I thought this would be a good reinforcement tool. He hasn't used it a ton -- more our fault since he doesn't have access to the boom box -- but has spent a lot of time with it when we set it up for him.

My 3&1/2 yr. old son loves his new read-along book. The stories seem to be more appropriate for older children who would enjoy adventure. My son loves anything to do with Thomas the Tank Engine, so loves listening to the stories as he looks at the pictures.

I gave this as a gift so I don't have personal experience with this item. I didn't here any complaints from the parents of the child I gave this to; so I assume they were happy with it...

I was very disappointed in this book. Not only did the stories seem to go on forever, with the plot seeming to go nowhere, but the stories we're a bit to old for my three year old. There is one story in particular where Diesel 10 is a mean engine who tries to 'get rid' of the steamies... my son now goes around saying, "I'll get you, you puffball". Not appropiate, too much violence!!
