I was very unhappy with the Carnival train set that falls apart the minute you put a train on it. Very poor manufacturing and I had my reservations of purchasing any other set for my son, but the Thomas Action Canyon train set is durable and very well crafted. I put it together for him in a few minutes and it has not fallen to pieces when he rolls the trains on the tracks (the bridge had me concerned.) This is definitely a track set to add to your child's collection. I am very happy with it.

This toy is really cute! My kids (3 and 5) love it. My husband had no problems putting it together (besides the fact the kids were bugging him at the time)and it seems pretty durable to me. I did test it by half jiggling the bridge and the side came off but that was easy to put back. But it's not coming off with normal play. I love how the bridge drops down and the train comes through the waterfall. It would be cool to have real water but that would be very messy.

Very impressive track! It does need a lot of room, but keeps kids occupied for long periods of time. Really a good buy for Christmas and everyday. It also shipped FAST... At this point, it is the nicest of the Thomas collection.

Although my son loves this toy it was kind of hard to put together, lots of parts. After we put it together a few parts on the bridge tend to fall off but he plays with it all the time!!!! He just turned 4 and his little brother 18 months also loves to play with it.

Last Christmas I gifted my grandson, now 5 years old, with the standard Thomas train set up. This Christmas I gave him "Action Canyon". It is become his favourite present and he has taught himself how to integrate both in multiple fashions. I wouldn't necessarily ever have called two train sets educational, however, isn't that what education is all about?

We purchased this for our 2 1/2 year old. Took a little time to put together, but he played with it all day. Can be disassembled and reassembled with ease. He loves it and will get the tote that we store it in and ask us to set it up. The pieces are virtually indestructable. It's been stepped on, thrown down the stairs and against the wall. I like the fact that you can add other sets to the track. Good quality product.

We purchased this for our 2.5yr old son for Christmas. It shipped free immediately and well in time for Christmas. It was easy to put together and very sturdy considering its height. The track is easily switched by our son to allow Thomas to run over or under the waterfall. He enjoys putting other battery operated friends on the tracks at the same time. I would not hesitate to buy this item, it is well worth the money and provides hours of enjoyment.

really easy to put together, and combine with other sets. bigger trains like gordan have trouble getting up the steap twisting tracks, but manage if you navigate them under the bridge. my 3 going on 4 year old loves it, is occupied with it all day and that for any parent is priceless. so buy some rechargable batteries or you will be going through them daily.

My daughter is 2 1/2 and loves this track. It is a lot of fun for her and she loves running around it to control if Thomas will go through or over the waterfall. It seems fairly sturdy but we have the occasional pieces come off and it's usually right around the bridge (that's where the "controls" are to make the train go through the waterfall versus over the top). She has to push pretty hard on the button to drop the bridge and that is what causes most of it. The issues we have ran into so far are thus, first, the force at which the trains go down the waterfall causes the switch on top of the train to move and it turns the trains off at the bottom when it hits the curve. This happens maybe 10-15% of the time. It's not a big deal, my daughter will either turn it on again or if she has two trains running the second train is able to push the first one around. Also, while going around the loop to the bridge/waterfall, the front edge of the trains seem to get caught on the plastic supports so we have to pick it up and correct it. Lastly, the size of this track it is roughly 67 inches in length and there is no way this will fit on a standard train table. Right now we have this on the floor and I'm debating having my husband make a custom table to fit it since we don't have a train table. If we already had a table, this would be a big minus and we probably would not have purchased it.

This is our FOURTH Thomas Train set... It is the best one yet!

Our 2 grand daughters, ages 2 & 4, are totally captivated with this set.... Whether it is the spiraling upward climb of Thomas on the tracks, or the descent of the train down and through the plastic waterfalls ....

**This train set is a marvelous project and toy...that keeps their attention.**


Day 1:

Our just turned 4 year old GrandDaughter assembled the track side by side with GrandDaddy (that's ME!).

Track set up was about 45 minutes ... in which she participated by finding the right pieces to connect and connecting those she could handle.

...Cookie Break...

We are back and played with it for 2 hours.

Our 2 year old GrandDaughter had the same amount of fun playing with the track.

Since we have other Thomas Train sets we have extra engines, so that they each have one to play with and follow along the tracks.


Day 2:

This is the second day of playing with this set, and they have been in the playroom with this item for 3 solid hours. They play with other toys and keep coming and running the trains. It is the center piece of their activity.

I HIGHLY recommend this train set. It's constructive value to the minds of our children is wonderful and its entertainment value to them is amazing.

Eventually this will fade and they will want to watch Yogi Bear and eat ice cream ... come to think of it, so do I...
