"Thomas & Friends: A Very Thomas Christmas" is a great holiday dvd for families to enjoy. It features new CGI stories and fun. The episodes on this dvd are "The Christmas Tree Express", "Ho Ho Snowman", "Salty's Suprise", and "Emily's Winter Party Special". There are great stories on this dvd. I enjoy how Edward was so thoughtful by trying to find Salty a christmas present, and great to see a present train with lights. Also we get to see the Blue Mountain Quarry in one of the episodes. During the episodes, Driver Perkins tries to find a place to sleep at the common room. There are two additional Bonus Features on this DVD: "Thomas' Christmas Journey" Game, and more "Guess Who?" Puzzles. This is a great dvd to add to the thomas collection for fans and families. I give this dvd 11 out of 10 stars in my opinion. Hope you all have a great christmas :)

What is Christmas without Thomas & Friends? "Thomas & Friends: A Very Thomas Christmas" is a wholesome and classic Christmas DVD full of all the classic trains my boys love. The lessons are simple for kids to pick up such as working together, responsibility and the importance of friends! There are four episodes on this DVD all about snow or Christmas! With the new CGI animation the colors are bright and the trains are animated. This is a perfect DVD for any train lover, and I have a feeling we will be watching this well into summer.

My daughter is a Thomas junkie. We sit and watch this DVD, and when it ends, she says, "Do it again, Daddy"! The only thing I am not to keen on is the real life actor. It seems to put a kybash on the fun for my daughter. I am happy that the stories are entertaining for her.

My two year old son loves this Christmas collection, especially the episode with the snowman.

This DVD includes:
The Christmas Tree Express- Rhineas has Toby take him to Misty Island to search for a perfect Christmas tree. He doesn't care that Toby is afraid of travelling on Misty Island, he just tells him to close his eyes and puff fast so they can hurry and find a tree. HE soon realizes his advice isn't helping and decides to be a friend to Toby, putting the Christmas tree mission second to his friend.

Ho Ho Snowman- Henry tells Charlie he doesn't like the snow and Charlie sets out to prove to Henry that snow can be fun. He pretends to be the voice of a snowman, telling jokes to Henry, but Henry is afraid and puffs away. Charlie tries again but Henry puffs away and hides in the sheds. Charlie eventually tells Henry the truth and offers to puff with him through the snow. They puff past children playing in the snow, which Henry realizes DOES look like fun. He even thinks he sees the snowman smile when Charlie tells a joke at Henry's request.

Salty's Surprise- Edward tries to find Salty the perfect Christmas present, offering him a new coat of green paint, a fancy funnel and a Christmas tree. Salty thanks Edward for his kindness every time, but tells him he can't accept any of his gifts. Edward is sad but Salty explains that his search for the perfect gift makes a great story, and Salty LOVES telling stories.

Emily's Winter Party Special- It's time for the Winter Festival and Sir Topham Hatt tells the engines that he will choose the most useful engine to be the dress up in colored lights as the Party Engine and pull the children's presents into the Town Square.

As before, we are a big fan of the newer, CGI Thomas episodes versus the older where the engines are a little gruff. More importantly, our little Thomas fanatic is too.

We were expecting a movie version like Misty Island Rescue. Rather, it is a series of short animations like in the traditional series. There is no theme uniting them except for snowy scenes. Unlike what the title suggests, there's no mention of Christmas except Christmas trees. Rather, it is very politically correct in simply referencing "winter holidays" and "winter party gifts." In addition, the breaks between the cartoons are the familiar Mr. Perkins in the Engine Common Room. However, the breaks are odd and not connected to Christmas. Lots of time is wasted as he decides to sleep in the common room, makes his own bed, then has trouble sleeping. Really? Is that the best they can do for "A Very Thomas Christmas"? If you're expecting this DVD to be themed, about Christmas, or a movie, you'll be seriously disappointed. Even if you're looking for general Thomas clips like in other Thomas DVDS, the human acting of Mr. Perkins has much to be desired. My kids got so bored during it. There are a lot better options out there than this one.
