We bought this set as the beginning train track for our son and it is fantastic. You can make all kinds of layouts, it is well made and will stand the test of time.

This is a great set of tracks to expand your Thomas set. As always great quality, and nice assortment of tracks.

Sorry, this is so short, but it's a fairly straightforward thing to review:

I bought this as an extension to a Thomas and Friends set we had, figure eight, was fine, and my 22 month old son liked it, but he was limited in what layouts he could make. Now he has a lot more track and can make much more interesting layouts. He's happy!

The quality is great and my son loves to play with it. The only complaint I have is with the risers. I have the same beef with the other risers we have too. When an engine is pulling more than one car, the cars derail almost every time the train is sent up or down a riser. It's very frustrating for my two year old (and me!). The steep angle is the culprit. The wheels come off the track because there isn't enough movement with the magnet couplings. Interestingly, the demo set at the toy store doesn't have this problem. So maybe with more wear the train cars will stay on the track better.

This product is a bit expensive, although much less so on Amazon. Still it offers a lot of variety for setting up the train tracks. My 2 1/2 year old and I have spent a lot of time enjoying it. I would recommend it.

My almost 3 year old daughter has been watching Thomas and Friends on Netflix. She loves them. She already had a train we picked up after the holidays on sale just for fun. We wanted to hold off before buying train stuff to see if she'd play with them. Her uncle had an old Thomas train set, but it was the generic variety of track. She loves going over there to play trains, so we decided to pick up a set for her. These tracks are superior to the generic tracks by far. The risers and supports on the generic are difficult for younger kids to play with since they fall over very easily. But this set has sturdy platforms with sections of track fixed on the top making it snug and harder to fall apart.
The only thing possible problematic is that the smaller turn tracks don't work that well with some of the longer engines.
A great set overall. Looks like this set is durable enough to last for our daughter's kids when she's all grown up.

By the way, Amazon is way cheaper than Toys r Us on sale.

This was a gift for out then 22 month old grandson. We went for the wooden railway because we planned to make additions in the future. This toy has been an instant hit ever since for our budding engineer. While he continues to love spending time reading, and playing with his cars and at his kitchen center the time with his "Thomas" trains and railway is very special and magical. This toy captivates his interest and focus. He is already able to reorganize the railway in different configurations, and to feed his skill and interest we have had to make additions and expansions ahead of our planned schedule, but that's okay too.

This very durable toy with wonderful educational value has also brought immense joy and fun to our grandson.

We love this product because you can be very creative. The quality is ok, not perfect. Great that most of it is made out of wood and not plastic. The biggest con is the price.

This is a great way to expand on the Thomas & Friends train sets. The grandchildren have had so much fun playing with their engines and train tracks. This set adds variety to their imagination when building their train track.

Bought this for our grandson who loves putting together track. We just didn't have enough for him. This layout gives him all the track he needs and can make the layouts he wants. He's four-years old and is not into technical advice about what to do from adults. Still he has great fun doing his own thing.
