If you already own a variety of Thomas The Train engines and you are looking to expand your collection, then this is a good buy. If you are just starting your collection, then it would be best to get the main engines first (Thomas, James, Percy, Gordon, etc). Note - these trains are for WOODEN railways.

My son found the painted train in his Thomas catalog and wanted it so bad. He would talk about nothing but the painted train he wanted. We searched every store and it was no where to be found. Then we found it online and it came with 2 other trains for the same price as you would pay for just one in the store! What a great deal! And boy was my son surprised when get finally got his painted choo-choo.

We purchased this as a gift for our son who was turning 4. He is into all things Thomas. The trains are very well made and durable. Good for stimulating his imagination ("Oh no, Thomas is in a snowstorm! How is he going to get back to the sheds?") A good 3 pack for the price, great for beginning Thomas fans or full fledged fanatics. I would definitely recommend this to a friend!
