Product Description

Editorial Review

The D199 is a train car with an attitude. He thinks he's invincible. What's it going to take to humble this big-talker? With eight working wheels, the handsome blue 4-inch wood engine loves the curves of the Clickety-Clack track. Based on the popular Thomas the Tank Engine series by Reverend W. Awdry and the PBS television show Shining Time Station, the wooden railway system is compatible with other magnetic train sets. You can reenact all the exciting stories in the series or make up new ones. Thomas fans won't want to miss out on any of these fun, well-built railway characters. --Emilie Coulter

Manufacturer Description

Blue with bright yellow face, D199 has reason to be a rather vain engine.

4.0 out of 5 stars What Video is D199 in?, June 18, 2005
This review is from: Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway - D199 (Toy)
My son picked this train out and wants to watch it in a video and I can't find a video with D199. Online it says it is in Steamies vs Diesels, but we watched the whole video and D199 was no where to be seen. Please help.

A Kid's Review

D199 is in no video. He is only in the Reverend Wilbert Awdry's Thomas book series. If you buy the complete collection, look under Enterprising Engines and on the story Super Rescue.

I bought this just over a week ago, and I love it already. He is my second favorite character in the complete Railway Series, and I am very glad I was able to find him. He is based off a real engine: However, only 10 of his BR Class 44s were made, therefore, meaning there never was a real 199. He does not appear in any TV Series episode; he only appears in the Railway Series book Enterprising Engines, along with another diesel, D7101. Now, if only there was a wooden 7101 to go along with him.
