5.0 out of 5 stars Essential for Thomas fans
Gordon is one of the main engines in the stories about Thomas. And kids love these stories a lot. The wooden toy comes with a lifetime warranty, but it is so durable you probably will not need it. Our Gordon has survived a lot and is still intact.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Thomas & Friends must; but too pricey
I was a railway fanatic when I was a little child; and now my son is, too, and probably more so than I ever was, thanks to the art and science of modern marketing. He wants Thomas this and Thomas that. He loves Gordon -- I guess most kids love Gordon because he's big and powerful. This hardwood toy looks nice, but doesn't seem very durable -- my son dropped it once and...

Gordon is one of the main engines in the stories about Thomas. And kids love these stories a lot. The wooden toy comes with a lifetime warranty, but it is so durable you probably will not need it. Our Gordon has survived a lot and is still intact.

My son loves the face (a little too serious and solemn, but that how Gordon usually is depicted in the stories)--it facilitates pretend play. Gordon comes with a tender, which attaches to the engine with a magnet. A magnet on the front also allows kids to make long trains with their other Thomas characters.

My son has become an absolute Thomas the Tank Engine Fanatic. He sleeps with his favorites and cannot get enough play time with them. He loves the computer game and also watches the videos. He has to have stories read to him from the complete Thomas book before he can go to sleep. And why not. The cars are durable, they teach motor skills and their fun for both of us.

Gordon is the large express engine. He's bigger than the other Thomas the Tank Engine toys. His bright blue paint and smiling face make him a joy to play with. My son just recently got Gordon, and he has quickly become one of his favorites. He likes to attach all of his other cars to Gordon and have him pull them. As with other trains in this family, Gordon is strong and durable and will provide hours of fun, interactive play. Pick Gordon up today for your child; they will thank you for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gordon's the best, December 29, 2005
This review is from: Thomas And Friends Wooden Railway - Gordon The Big Express Engine (Toy)
Gordon is of the typical high quality I have come to expect from Learning Curve's wooden railway brand. Also he is one of the main characters on the Island of Sodor. Gordon is the biggest engine hence is the biggest toy, has two sets of wheels which move separately, which is essential to sharp turns, and he comes with a tender. Just a well made quality wooden toy, classic.

This huge toy is loved by many; you can roll it around, make a train, play games, and lots of other stuff with it.

Also, it is very durable.

This toy is great!

I noticed the numbers on all the engines so I bought this one so I could make it so my son could count the engines from1-10. This is number 4. Only the coal cars are marked. This is a large engine. It's size makes it difficult to push around and it derails easily. My son is 16 moths old and has trouble with this engine I recommend it if for the 2+ crowd.

Our grandson makes a beeline for anything blue, so this Xmas I got him Gordon & set it on a window sill right at his eye level. The moment he walked into the sitting room where the Xmas tree was all lit up with gifts underneath, he spied Gordon immediately & reached for it. Fit his hand perfectly & he carried it around & ran it on the carpet for the rest of his visit. I like the clean corners & its durability. Next year I'll find some tracks Thomas The Tank Engine: Around the Barrel Loader Set &/or a DVD of Gordon stories Thomas & Friends: Holiday Express. Sad part is, I remember regularly traveling on trains that really did go choo-choo.

This is a very nice addition to any Thomas Wooden Railway collection. I purchased this for my son and he really enjoys it. It is durable and very detailed, just like the other Thomas Wooden items. If your child is a Thomas fan, this would be perfect for him=)

He wants Thomas this and Thomas that. He loves Gordon -- I guess most kids love Gordon because he's big and powerful. This hardwood toy looks nice, but doesn't seem very durable -- my son dropped it once and the wheel bases got really loose, to the point that we may need to buy another one. Also, these toys are made in China, and the trees they cut down to make these are from China, too, so I guess the cost to manufacture is probably 50 cents, but they charge U.S. consumers twenty bucks. Makes me wish I were in the toys trade.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gordon's the Best!, April 24, 2005

If you have a train lover in your house, or are just beginning your child's collection, Gordon is a definite must. He's in almost every story and is the fourth engine in the shed. He's huge, shiny, and always boastful, but a good friend to Thomas. Ours gets taken to bed, along with a couple of the other engines, which is always the true test for a toy! These trains come with a lifetime guarantee and are just a must if you have little boys in particular. Gordon has made a zillion trips along his line in our house and he's probably one of the most enjoyed too. Grab him and see how much fun your little one has with him - he's highly recommended!
