This is a great caboose and plays the Thomas and Friends theme song "Engine Rollcall". It just plays the tune, and isn't too loud (something that is pretty consistent with all the Thomas toys, and I appreciate they made the choice to make things quieter). It plays the last part of the main chorus:
My 2 year old boy loves this train, and pushes the button repeatedly, trying his best to sing along, and shaking his hips and shoulders to the beat. It is rather charming, if I do say so myself!
The lyrics:
"They're two, they're four, they're six, they're eight,
Shunting trucks and hauling freight.
Red and green and brown and blue,
They're the Really Useful crew.
All with different roles to play
'round Tidmouth Sheds or far away,
Down the hills and round the bends,

We love this toy. All the Thomas trains are great. This one plays the Thomas theme song. The kids love to push the button and make it play over and over. It's not too loud. Great toy

After buying a Thomas & Friends Musical Caboose along with a couple of train sets, I quickly found out that I needed to find more musical cars and engines to keep my grandson and granddaughter from fighting over the Musical Caboose.

Great toy! We have had no problem replacing batteries in this or any other Thomas toy. Tune does not annoyingly keep playing and playing.

Would have been fun

My son loves this!

don't replace batteries just buy new train
Just spent $10 buying 2 button cell batteries for the musical caboose. It didn't work. Tried them in a Christmas present train. Also didn't work. Read more

Love it but buy replacement batteries with it
This musical caboose is a lot of fun to play with and my son loves to push he botton to hear the Thomas theme. After a month or so of having the caboose the batteries ran down. Read more
