2.0 out of 5 stars Good info poorly presented, April 30, 2005

This review is from: Thomas Guide 2005 King County: Street Guide (King County Street Guide and Directory) (Paperback)
I moved to Seattle and bought this street guide the first day in order to get around. Technically, most of the information is in the book, but it has at least two major flaws. First, it does NOT cover all of King County. I bought a home on the edge of the county, and my house is off the map. Second, and worse, it evenly splits downtown Seattle into four maps. This is really bad - most people are at some point going to want to go downtown, only to find that the most interesting streets and locations require using 1, 2, or 3 pages for a trip from I-5 to your destination. Try locating the page you need in downtown traffic and you will quickly become either lost or dangerous.

The publisher used some sort of existing map grid that was convenient to them but not to the reader. The maps are not numbered with a useful system, but rather their own internal numbering. For example, the four maps for downtown Seattle are 564, 565, 594, and 595. Of course, the book does not have 500 maps in it. More like 60. But this was apparently easier for the publisher and thus the book suffers. I would recommend almost any other street guide over this book.
