The new format is great!,

Many frowned when in 2007 with the first edition of this map Rand McNally introduced it's standard Street Guide format, though still under the Thomas Guide name, to Los Angeles. Well I think not all change is bad and it is time for change. There is a reason why almost the whole country uses more or less this format (all Rand Mcnally, Mapsco & American Map Atlases). It is as it says, much easier to read and even much easier to use as it folds out more like a big book, so requires less room. True, you have to turn the pages more often, but the better quality of maps makes up for that.

This is so much easier to read. One page of the old type is 4 pages here.

I liked the bigger maps but the middle grids are cut in two, making it bothersome. The index is sometimes wrong.
