We run a full-service design/build landscape and irrigation company in the Portland Metro area on the west coast... and have found GPS's to be helpful on the service side of our business. However, for our crews that are driving from our offices to the project site and then back... a GPS is a bit overkill. Thomas Guides are constantly checked, then rechecked for accuracy and aid in our routing, etc.

We highly recommend the Thomas Guide for any business that hasn't already tried them and doesn't see the need to buy a $200 GPS that can be lost/stolen/broken easily.

I bought this map book in preparation for a move to the Portland area. Now, after moving here I still use it to familiarize myself with the area of places i am going to for the first time.

If you don't have one of those global navigators thing that are in common use these days, this is a good book to have.

I like that it also shows where the stations are for the local light rail system.

The size of the fonts is good enough so you can read without glasses.
Much better than regular maps.

The guide arrived quickly after ordering and was still in it's new wrapper. It is a worthwhile product for those of us who don't use/have navigation systems, or just like to have a picture/map of where places are.
