The hymns were well sung, and the Thomas Kinkade backgrounds enhanced the words of the hymns. Listening to that DVD several times was a very worshipful experience. Some of our friends have also listened to these hymns with us. We have also purchased this DVD as gifts for family members and friends.

The beauty of the Kinkade works is impressive as usual. In some portions of the DVD, video clips cycle around too rapidly- not allowing one to study the beauty of the artwork. When I purchased this DVD, I was hoping that vocals would be of restful high choral quality. Soft accompaniment with string instruments would have been preferred, not just a basic church organ hurrying to keep up with the beat of a metronome.

I recently saw the Christmas Thomas Kinkade DVD while at a friends Christmas party. It was beautiful instrumental music along with the Kinkade pictures. I asked for the "33 best loved hymns" for Christmas - hoping it would be similarly recorded. It is not! This one has vocals on each song. The previous reviewer loved the singing. . .guess it just isn't my type of music.

I first rented this DVD on Netflix, liked it so much that I purchased it myself. I use this DVD in a nursing home I work at as an Activities Assistant.
I work in a dementia unit where most residents have no "meaningful" verbal ability...YET when I play the familiar hymns many of these same "non-verbal" residents sing along word for word! This music reaches a place within them that brings forth this wonderful reaction! One of the residents used to be a church organist and has been in a wheelchair for many years, but when she hears the music she pushes her foot as if playing on a real organ! Her face lights us with delight! This DVD with it's colorful Kinkade paintings shown in the background is very soothing to the eyes. I play this once a week! A good investment!

Enjoyed the aitwork while listening to the hymns, but especially enjoyed the extras where Thomas Kinkade explained the message he was trying to bring through his beautiful artwork.
