We had a lot of cockroaches. A lot. It was disgusting. Apparently, they were in the walls, and other condos had problems with them as well. We started out only lightly dusting the Diatomaceous Earth through the kitchen, which is where the biggest problem was. A few weeks went by, and no doubt, some of them were dead. You can tell they were dehydrated. At one point, my boyfriend saw one of them stumbling as if it were drunk, covered in white powder. I knew it was working. We had to sweep them away constantly. But, did they all die? No. We started sprinkling more and more. At one point, the little kitchen was covered in white.

It's very eco-friendly, which is why I tried it. The dog and cat didn't go near it, but it didn't affect them. My boyfriend, who has severe allergies, wasn't affected by it as well. But, some of those suckers wouldn't die! Maybe the other reviewers didn't have as bad as a problem as we did. But, once we moved out (we didn't move out because of the cockroaches, but they did help) and we took away all of the food and moisture, they were pretty much gone.

So yes, it did work. I still have some. It lasts a long time. If I see some in our new place, I will no doubt use it again. Maybe our problem was just too big for this powder.

Shipped quickly and helped me kill the fleas that had invaded the carpet in a bedroom - brought in by two cats I was watching for a friend. Thanks so much!

My first attempt at a container garden. I raised the plants from seeds (which I have never done before) and they grew!! So you can imagine my heart-break when I put them out only to find them almost gone overnight :( Peppers, broccoli and my beans too, almost all gone.... It wasn't until I caught them (the pests) in the act did I know what was eating my plants. The varmints were what looked like snails but no shells. I read about this stuff and tried it on the dirt of the plants being eaten..... It worked, it really worked. The plants started growing new growth and are doing fantastic now. It can't hurt for you to try it. Not sure what other pests it works on, but it worked on the slugs and worms.

Althought DE is wonderful in killing insects and bugs, please do not believe that it is completely safe around humans and animals. All food grade DE contains silica, making it an extreme health hazard if inhaled (lung damage) or if it has come in contact with your eyes. Extreme caution, an approved respirator, and googles are a must when using this product!!! This product is effective, but please take the necessary precautions. It's not as safe as companies make them out to be!

Can't beat it for natural and non-toxic and it decreased my allergic response to the dust mites in the air. JUST BE VERY CAREFUL, FELLOW BUYERS, TO NOT INHALE ANY OF THE DIATOMACEOUS EARTH WHILE DUSTING ONTO SURFACES.

DE is made of MICROSCOPIC SHELLS OF ORGANISMS harvested from the ocean. It works great to cut the exoskeleton of the dust mites so they dehydrate and die. But, it is not so great IN YOUR LINING OF YOUR LUNGS. They are made of the same hard stuff as oyster shells so YOUR BODY CANNOT break them down.

**** so, take a deep breathe, hold it, THEN, sprinkle! **** Hum-m-m, now for the cat and the dog :) !

Used this to help get rid of bedbugs and other pests. It has definitely reduced the number of bus I've seen and was easy to use.

You can drink it, just don't breathe it.

As a personal detox agent this stuff is pretty amazing. I'm up to 3 heaping teaspoons
a day now and I feel like a million bucks. I have suffered from insomnia all my life, but now
when its time to go to bed I drink a glass of DE juice, and I sleep like a baby, even dreaming
in technicolor. My skin is smoother and more supple, my hair which has always been fairly thin
feels like wire and is growing like crazy! But what this stuff really does spectacularly is to
scrub your system clean, and I think that is the biggest benefit to the noticeable sense of well
being and energy I've had.

HOWEVER, a word of caution for any of you planning to scatter this stuff about your personal space
as a "natural pesticide." I have read where you have to leave it down for 30+ days. Well thats
OK if its outside, but for indoor use you need to know that breathing this DE WILL effect your health,
I don't care what anybody says, if you put this on your floors in quantities needed to be effective,
very soon you will start feeling like crap, and your ventilation system will transport what you put
down, make it all airborne, and soon cover everything in your house. The DE companies say breathing
this stuff has no effect, that is an outright lie. Want to sprinkle this on your plants, no problem.
Want to douse your carpets with this.... major problem.

Three days after dusting the house with this we're finding all sorts of insects we didn't know lived in the house! We keep finding them dessicated and dry. This stuff really works and the great thing about it is that it's safe. I wouldn't give it to my dog orally though, human food grade brands may be safer? All in all I'm very pleased with this, it's great to be able to use chemical free pest control.

I live in NYC and everyone knows its hard to keep roaches out of your place when you share walls with other tenets and you live in some of the older building. I didn't wanna use any chemical sprays but I cannot handle critters so I thought I'd give this stuff a try. I have been using this powder for about a month now and I've noticed a decrease in the number of critters I see. I have seen one or two in the bathroom and they looked strange cause I guess they were missing their exoskeleton. This stuff does what it says! Will definately keep it near my entry was and in my kitchen.

I've had trouble with water bugs and cockroaches in my bathroom. I
used one of the electric plug in devices and got rid of most of them, but
I kept noticing a few still around. I spread some powder around with a spoon and then spread it out thin with a paper towel. Thankfully the bugs (including giant water bugs) disappeared. I'll be glad for the
shaker as it will make applying it easier. As I have cats, it's nice to have something non toxic to apply. I had to get used to little white
paw marks around the house though. My cats didn't seem to mind it at all.
