Perfect for our Thomas fan!,

We were scrambling at the last minute to find the perfect Christmas gift for our Thomas the Train fan. We couldn't be happier with the purchase. He adores it! The bike assembled easily, especially since we were sleep deprived from assembling hours before the kids woke up Christmas morning. I would definitely recommend it!

Overall, a nice bike for our 3 1/2 year old daughter. A few small problems:
* The assembly guide included in the box didn't seem to be about this particular bike (a totally different model was discussed). * The wheels have no inner tube -- fine by me, except that it turned out to be impossible to put air into the wheels using a hand pump; needed to take the bike to the gas station on its first day, as it came with floppy tires * The front plate was not attached to the bike, nor was there any hardware to attach it with Happy riding!

My husband and I bought this bike for our son when he was turning 3. He is a HUGE Thomas fan and have LOVED his bike since day one. It took my son all summer (he has a June bday) to learn to pedal it, but he is a master of it now. The only "issue" we had, and had read about, it that the front plate is held on by "zip ties" which break off fairly easily. We have some in our house so it was a quick and easy fix. Also, our son is small for his age so, we will easily get the full 3 years out of this bike (we are planning to buy him a new one for his 6th bday, next June). If he was taller, he would have outgrown this bike by now.
It is VERY sturdy and has even sat out in the rain a few times when I forgot to make sure it was in the garage. It's in such good shape that my younger son will "inherit" it when he turns 3, and his brother gets his new bigger bike. Well worth the money!

I recently purchased this bike for my nephew's 3rd birthday and he absolutely LOVED it!!! At first, we were worried that the bike was going to be too big for a 3-year-old; however, it is the perfect size. The bike is sturdy and well-made. The seat is adjustable to accommodate growing legs, so he will be able to use this bike for the next year or two.
My only issue with the bike (and it's really not enough to deduct a star) is the lack of clarity with the assembly instructions. The instructions that come with the bike are confusing and it doesn't even seem as though they are the right directions for this bike. Fortunately, my dad has plenty of tools and a working knowledge of how some of the parts were supposed to work (I had no idea what a lock tab was supposed to do!), so he bailed me out and helped me to assemble the bike. Mostly, we used the picture on the front of the box to figure it out. It was somewhat frustrating to assemble the bike, but it was completely worth it when I saw my nephew's face light up upon seeing it. He spent the rest of his birthday party riding it and it was clearly the favorite present of the day!

It took a little time to get it all together, but once the assembly was complete, this bike has been a pure delight for my son. He received this for his 4th birthday and, if your little man loves Thomas, this will be their most favorite gift! So far, the bike has worked perfectly. I highly recommend it!

The bike is very nice, I bought it for my 4 y/o son who is a huge Thomas fan.The only problem is that it's shipped in it's own box, with no protection whatsoever so it arrived to our house badly damaged. The front part was bent and we couldn't put the wheel in, my husband had to use Herculean strength to push it in.
Other than that it's a great first bike!

My husband I purchased this bike for our nephew who loves Thomas. After shopping around for weeks, Amazon had the best price and quickest shipping. It was easy to put together and ready to go under the tree Christmas Eve. The hugs, kisses and thank you's said it all.

I admit to being skeptical when I bought this for my 3 year old son. His older sister was getting her first bike for Christmas and we knew he'd be jealous. We knew he'd like the Thomas theme but were worried that themed toys are usually junk. This is really solid, and he instantly zoomed around the street on it. It's a 100% hit and truly was easy to assemble.
I'd suggest this for 3 and 4 year olds. It's small enough for them to use confidently but is not a "baby toy" by any stretch. |
