1.0 out of 5 stars Dangerous, July 22, 2010
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Thomas the Tank Engine Bubble Blowing Thomas (Toy)
The toy stopped working the second time my son went to use it. I had put new brand name batteries in the train. When I took the train to see what had happened I turned it over and noticed that battery acid was coming out of the battery compartment. Thank goodness none had gotten on his skin and that I had noticed it. Completely unsafe. It could have caused skin burns or what if he had ingested the acid! My next task is to figure out how to report this so that kids remain safe.

1.0 out of 5 stars ENTIRELY UNSAFE!, September 7, 2010
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Thomas the Tank Engine Bubble Blowing Thomas (Toy)
One of the grandparents got this toy for my son's third birthday. We were able to put it together and play at the party, but the bubbles leaked into the battery compartment (leaked resistant, ha). I thought the batteries had just died, so I opened it up to changed the batteries and a mixture of bubbles, battery acid, and rust (in just a few hours!) oozed out. Needless to say, it no longer works after only one use. My son keeps asking if he can play with the bubble blower, but even if it did work, this thing is too unsafe to have around little ones - or anyone for that matter. I don't know how many injuries will have to be reported before this toy is recalled, but don't let your kid be one of them!

1.0 out of 5 stars Cute...But bad design, August 5, 2010
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Thomas the Tank Engine Bubble Blowing Thomas (Toy)
Bought this for the little boy I nanny. He LOVED it, except when it stopped working! The battery compartment needs to be kept loose in order to blow the bubbles, by leaving it loose, bubble solution leaks into the battery compartment and makes the whole thing stop! It then takes FOREVER to clean out the solution and let dry. Needs a design update. Plus where you pour the solution is in a stupid place.

1.0 out of 5 stars Safety issue!, July 20, 2010
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Thomas the Tank Engine Bubble Blowing Thomas (Toy)
All the above reviews are accurate. I have to also mention the safety issue. If you don't take the batteries out within 24 hours, the bubble mixture corrodes the batteries and you are left with a slimy mixture of bubble solution and battery acid leaking out of the battery compartment onto your little ones hands!! THIS ITEM SHOULD BE RECALLED!

1.0 out of 5 stars doesn't work, June 21, 2010
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Thomas the Tank Engine Bubble Blowing Thomas (Toy)
I just bought this (from Target $[...]). It doesn't work. The battery compartment lid seems to displace the batteries from the terminals. Works ok without the lid, but agree with other reviews, even then, it is inconsistent. And of course, without the lid the batteries then fall out. VERY poor design.

I bought this toy for my nephew, but had to return it. The bubble machine didn't work and it leaked all over the place. The toy itself looks adorable, but it's a piece of garbage.

I was very excited to give this to my 18 month old. He loves Thomas and bubbles. Unfortunately this made him more frustrated than happy. Or should I say made ME more frustrated than happy. The solution spills out easily and the bubbles are very small....that is when they come out. It's very inconsistent. My son loved to pull the handle which made the "noise", but I had to do it for him most of the time because I would have to tilt it to get the solution to come out for the tiny bubbles. Overall....skip it. Just made for more tears when I had to take it away from him. I've since emptied the solution, removed the batteries and am crossing my fingers he'll find a creative way to use it. DON'T waste your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unfortunate, July 23, 2010

My son was so excited when he saw this in the store. We got it home and played with it for 10 minutes before his nap. By the time he woke up the bubble solution had leaked out of the train and into the battery compartment. After letting it dry out and replacing the batteries it still wouldn't work. So unfortunate because my son keeps asking why his cho-choo won't work.
