Obviously a labour of love by Mr. Sibley..., January 2, 2007
This review is from: The Thomas the Tank Engine Man: A Biography (Hardcover)
A fascinating and insightful book about the Rev. Awdry, along with the Sodor mythos that he created. Were it not for Brian's biography of WVA, many details about the man would have been lost forever when the Rev. passed away in 1997. If you can find and purchase a copy of the book, you won't be able to put it down once you begin reading it. I agree with Mr. M. Clutterbuck that it's a shame that this book is now out-of-print.

Essential source for Thomas the Tank Engine fans, June 10, 2006
This review is from: The Thomas the Tank Engine Man: A Biography (Hardcover)
A superb companion for anybody who has enjoyed the Railway Series by the Rev W.V. Awdry or its "Thomas the Tank Engine" TV spin-off. It is the definitive biography of Wilbert Awdry and includes the story of how his talking engines came into being and achieved subsequent global success. It is packed with illustrations and beautifully written. It is a huge shame that this book is currently out of print.
