My grandson loves Thomas so I bought him this potty seat. When he sits on it there is NO WAY the deflector is going to work properly.

My son wanted a Thomas potty and this was a good choice for him. He loves the trains on the seat. However, the hole is not big enough. We have a difficult time getting my son positioned on the potty so that he can go without getting urine on the seat. And the cusion is not easy to keep clean because urine gets trapped underneath it and in the sides.

When searching for a new potty seat, one of the features we were looking for was a removable shield. Our kids are good at not making a mess so they don't need the shield. And not having it makes it easier for them to get on and off the potty by themselves.

We couldn't tell by the description of this item, but after receiving it we see that the shield is NOT removable. This item is a 2 piece set, a hard plastic frame, and a removable cushion. The shield is built into the plastic frame, it is not possible to remove.

That said, the shield is not very tall. It actually sits about flush with the surface of the cushion. So because we were looking for no shield, it's basically like none at all because it doesn't stick up. That works for us, but if you need the shield, you will be disappointed because what's the point of one that sits level with the seat?

Other than that it is a little on the small side. Our kids complained at first that it's a little cramped, hard to use for #2, but they seem to have gotten used to it.
