Thomas the Train: Good Night Thomas

I purchased this pillow for my 2-year old who is a dedicated Thomas fan. He has several videos and trains, and other Thomas merchandise. Bedtime can be a battle at times, but he usually would cooperate as long as he could take one of his trains with him to bed. Of course, they aren't cuddly, and they were always falling through the crib slats. After wriggling under the crib to fetch him his trains one too many times, I decided to look for something else for him to take to bed.

The train itself is about the size of a football and rather firm to the touch. It is soft, but not too plushy. It holds it shape well and therefore is not to "squeezable." This is not a bad thing, but do not expect something like a pillow. It is a firm plush toy.

My son instantly loved it and has not put it down all day. You press the roof to hear Thomas say a few phrases. He says things such as "I've run out of steam" "We've been really useful today." It also plays a slowed-down, lullaby version of the Thomas and Friends Theme Song. So there is one song and four short phrases. The volume on the toy is not too loud, which is nice.

Even though different people narrate the part of Thomas on the DVDs and TV programs, the voice of Thomas on this toy seems a bit "off" to me, but it did not seem to bother my son at all. However, this may not be so with an older child. Also, the eyes and nose are made of some sticky material that I can imagine wearing off after some considerable use.

Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and am glad to get my son a toy that will stay in the crib with him. He carries it around with him all day and talks along with the phrases. It is a good size for a toddler and he enjoys hearing and talking along with the phrases. If your child loves Thomas the Tank Engine, they will certainly love this toy.

My 13 month old absolutely loves Thomas the Train, so I was very excited to find something Thomas related that was age appropriate for him. He will not put it down, and he takes it everywhere.

Just be aware that the voice is not Thomas's voice at all, it's actually really flamboyant sounding, which when paired up with some of the things he says got a few laughs out of my husband. I'll probably end up taking the batteries out. The only thing to improve this would be to take the voice sayings away, and make the lullaby like 5 minutes long.

My grandson is 3 and is at the higher end of the age recommendations for this toy. He is a huge Thomas fan and has been taking other stuffed animals to bed with him lately. I couldn't resist this Thomas item and had it sent to him. He really likes it and has been taking it to bed with him. The button to make it talk is on the top, so it shouldn't get accidentally pushed during the night. The phrases are nice and sleepy sounding, so it should encourage going to bed.

I guess grandma has been overindulging the little guy. He normally draws all of his pictures at pre-school in green, but chose brown for one of his latest pictures. When his teacher asked him what he had drawn, he replied, "A UPS truck!"

I have a 2 year old boy who is not particularly fond of stuffed animals. At night if I try to put a stuffed animal into bed with him he throws it off his bed. So I thought maybe he would like a stuffed Thomas since he is obsessed with Thomas the train. He loved it! He doesn't play with this stuff Thomas at any other time of the day but when he lays down for bed he says " Train Train " looking for his stuffed Thomas. The button on the top of Thomas that makes him say things or sing is so easy to press that sometimes when my son hugs it Thomas goes off. I wish there was more music numbers on this stuffed Thomas. There is one song that is the normal Thomas Theme song just slowed down to a lullaby form. Its great, like I said I wish there were more songs and less talking but thats my preference. But besides that I am more than pleased with this stuffed Thomas. It is about the size of a football and is very much in Thomas's likeness. I had seen other stuffed Thomas toys that were much larger but looked odd in proportion and the colors were more soft blues and grays. This stuff Thomas I believe is most true to the likeness of Thomas.

My 1 and a 1/2 year old son just adores watching Thomas. I was happy to find such an age appropriate Thomas for him to play with. He loves it and loves to press the button to hear the music and Thomas talk.

My 2 years old love Thomas train so much, so I bought this Thomas the Train pillow for him. He loves it and kiss it right after he open it, and now he carries this pillow everywhere.

My son adores Thomas the Train. This is actually my second purchase of this stuffed Thomas because, unfortunately, you CANNOT pull the battery box out to wash it!! He spilled juice all over it and I cant get the outside of the toy clean. He loves this Thomas and I would highly recommend it, except the lack of washing ability. The price is high too, but I would do anything to see him smile!!

Purchased this item for my grandson. His mom tells me he won't fall asleep without it. Great buy.

My son loves Thomas so when I saw this I had to get it! It is of good quality but just isnt really fun. It is a stuffed animal that plays music. He only played with it for a few minutes then into the toy bin it went!

My two and a half year old grandson LOVES Thomas and he really likes this bedtime Thomas. My only complaint is that it is way overpriced for such a simple toy but he loves Thomas so much, I couldn't resist. I agree with other reviewers that it would be nice if the bedtime song lasted longer.
