Super easy to put together (he's 4), and very easy to move around with the flexi track. . . .Highly recommend.

This is a great track, I love how it can be flexed many different ways to create some interest and have another option to connect the Take N Play sets.
WDEJ's Mom
Only two end pieces connect it to the other sets so if you lose those pieces the rest of the track does not work.

Before I begin, this item is being used with a 5 year old autistic child.

First "problem" I encountered with the tracks was the limited supplies of couplers. Yes technically this track IS NOT compatible with the design of the other non-bendable tracks, instead they include a couple of couplers to make the track connect with the playsets. Which is bad because if you lose any of the couplers, you will definitely have to buy another set of bendable tracks. But that's exactly what the company wants you to do. The company could have easily made bendable pieces of the design of the other tracks by introduce a bending mechanism in the middle (in between the track rather than the connection). But for that, the track would have to be 1/2 inch bigger and it would be more costly to build (they want to make more money).

Second, when the track is completely in the round position, Thomas, Annie and Clarabel will often tip over when moderately being driven around the track. For the price of the sets, the track and train should be able to adhere to each other better. For an entire set of tracks with just 3 of the main characters with coaches included, you will easily spend over one hundred dollars. And this is NO genuine train-set, so why spend hundreds to complete the set?

I found these flaws as soon as I evaluated the tracks upon opening, but wait till I talk about what happened next. My son became desperate when he couldn't connect and disconnect these tracks on his own, I tried to disconnect them myself, and ouch!

I injured myself at least every time I wanted to disconnect them. The individual tracks are so small and tight, that disconnecting them is very difficult. When you disconnect them it is better to do so by pairs or more.

This is a great addition to the take-n-play sets. It is basically only one piece of trace (one type of connector on each end) but it is really long (or can be shortened to your liking). One additional positive is that it does come with one male/male piece and one female/female piece, which can be useful in connecting other pieces. Note that this is made up of a lot of about one inch long pieces that connect together. Since they also disconnect, it might not be appropriate for younger children.

Update: There are 39 playsets in the Take-n-Play line as of summer 2013 - by setting a little money aside each week, Grandpa and I have collected all but four of them for our grandson, so we were VERY excited when Fisher-Price came out with new ways to connect them in 2011! The flexi-track is great, and can be used to make some of the most challenging connections between his playsets! This was one of 3 track packs widely distributed and first appearing on TnP's 2011 Collector's Checklists (as well as the S-Curve & Bridge). (Update: Fisher-Price's summer 2013 MSRP for all 3 packs is $11, so we were obviously gullible when we paid $14.99 a piece for them at ToysRUs a couple of years ago!) They also gave two great exclusive to ToysRUs - a 22 piece Straight & Curved Track Pack, and a 20 piece Straight, Curved & Crossings Track Pack. Although all of the sets do connect together, it's nice to have these other fun options. And now there's also a Mini Spiral Track, and a Bridge Track (not to be confused with the first "Bridge")!

A little of our own "Thomas" history... As first time grandparents, my husband and I wanted to start some type of collection for our grandson that he could possibly pass along to his own kids one day. Our grandson was 2 1/2 at the time, and had been talking a lot about a certain train named Thomas (a little fella whom - now hard to believe! - we'd never heard of.) After doing some research, it seemed the Take-n-Play line might be the perfect investment to engage and encourage his active imagination, as well as provide a fun way for us to interact with him. What a rewarding decision... we've had SO much fun together with this quality line of trains, vehicles and playsets, and now new track sets to help connect them!

I would assume that tracks that say they are for "Take-N-Play" would fit all take-n-play products. Beware this does not work with the Misty Island Rescue set. Purchased this to connect to my son's Misty Island Rescue Take-N-Play set but none of the pieces fit. Sent back for refund.

This is a great track, I love how it can be flexed many different ways to create some interest and have another option to connect the Take N Play sets.

It needs more connector pieces to attach to sets though. I'd like to be able to use half of this at some point of some Take N Play set and the other half on another portion, but you can't because there aren't enough connector pieces to do so...

We still like it and my daughter uses it for things other than her trains as well - it makes a great "fishing stick". ;o)

These track pieces don't really fit with other Thomas Take-A-long toys-the tracks don't lock tightly in place with the other toys.

This is a great idea...but it needs more connecting pieces. You have to use the whole strip together. We would have liked to be able to split it up and use the curvy pieces in different places in our set-up. Overall, my kids really like it.
