The NASB is a must for anyone who is serious about Bible study. Everyone and anyone who is familiar with scripture knows that the NASB is the most accurate word for word translation from the origional tounges. The Thompson Chain system is used my ministers and lay alike for study and preparation. It is extremely exhaustive on subject matter and topics from Genesis to Revelation. The extras are almost overwhelming such as harmonies, maps, person and place index, ect...

The Bible is a little heavy and because of it's thickness, it won't fit into my bible cover. The pages seem very thin and you can see type from the other side of the page (but not too terrible). I havent tried marking yet bacause I am afraid of the ink going through the page so I might try a dark pencil or something.

All in all the Bible is worth the money entirely for the contents alone. I wouldn't recommend it for a new Christian, for them I would recommend a New Open Bible Study Edition by Thomas Nelson Publishers. But the Thompson Chain Study Bible is superb if you can look past a few construction shortcomings.

The TCR is a brilliant bible because it has an easy to follow reference system that takes you through topics. You can choose to open anywhere and read until something of particular interest hits you- then go to the margin to find a link verse to something similar. Suddenly your own assisted delving into the scriptures becomes a gold mine of revelation.
Add to this unique system the masses of incredibly valuable tools in the back- and you have one "library" of essential biblical study resource all wrapped up in a solidly constructed, leather bound cover.
