I must say that my overall experience with this airsoft weapon has been good. From the moment I opened the box I was happy with this gun. I must say that my overall experience with this airsoft weapon has been good. From the moment I opened the box I was happy with this gun. The plastic grips and stock look very much like real wood, that combined with the full metal body give this gun a very authentic look and feel. Of course, that's just the outside of the gun. Loading the drum magazine is very convenient, you just open the slot in the side, and pour ammo in. This is very affective during airsoft skirmishes, it allows you to reload quickly, and get back in the fight. Once you have loaded, the guns performance is incredible. The rate of fire is incredible and the muzzle velocity is as advertised. When I first tested this gun on soda cans, I was afraid to use it in airsoft skirmishes because I thought it'd be legitimately dangerous to people. It doesn't cause any real harm, but it certainly does hurt, a lot. The only complaint I have is the battery. The battery works just fine, for a time. The only problem is, it's not really designed to churn out that much power. Just make sure to recharge it after every use, and it should be fine. Nice side note, the charger comes with a warning label saying not to charge battery more then five hours. I'm very glad they put this on, I can't tell you how many people I've seen fry the batteries to their airsoft guns, by trying to charge it over night.

overall this thompson is a pretty nice gun except for a few things. It is really heavy and since im only 12 i have a little trouble looking down the sight. another thing that i dislike about this gun is that the hop up is crazy. once you shoot the gun the bbb flys up and then falls again. The baxs system doesnt really make a difference. I use .12 bbs so im not sure waht it would be like for different bbs. I also do not like the drum since you have to wind it after about 20 rounds. The last thing i dislike about this gun is that while useing semi auto you have hold the trigger untl the bullet fires or it wont work in which you go to full auto for a while and then got back to semi. although on the other hand this gun is very durable, has great fps ( It hurts a lot when your hit with it which is entertaining), the battery lasts a long time, and it is all metal except for the stock which is plastic not wood

LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE...DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE! THEY TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS POORLY. THEY KNOW THAT THEY ARE THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN AND THEY TREAT YOU THAT WAY.

After we purchased a gun worth over $200, we took it home and when trying to use it for the first time, it didn't work. OK, that's not their fault, but when I tried to bring it back one day later...they basically told me to screw off and they couldn't help. They wanted to charge me to fix the issue, and what's worse is that they gave me an attitude from the moment I walked in the door. After trying repeatedly to call the owner, he continued to ignore me and refused to call back (great way to run a business). I will not spend another dime in this store, and I recommend that you follow the same advice. Anyone can sell you something (they were happy to take my $200), but its customer service that will set you apart from others...they have no clue. ...and if there is a God, he will ensure that their business is short-lived.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice and Solid, March 18, 2011
This review is from: Thompson M1928 Full-Metal Body AEG airsoft gun (Sports)
Just like the title, this is definitely a solid and sturdygun AEG that functions very well and is very accurate, even at distances of 150 ft. Opening the box I knew it said "full metal" and didn't mention anything about "real wood" as the wooden models do because it's a selling point. The buttstock, foregrip, and trigger grip is made of some type of plastic, but it isn't very "creaky" and there isn't much give. To me, full metal is a little decieving, because the lower reciever(where the safety and fire-rate selectors, and trigger is located) is made of ABS plumbing-grade plastic, hence the 4 stars. However, everything else from the inner workings and gears, to the magazine is metal. The battery compartment located at the butt of the stock opens up to insert the battery, and comes with a foam pad to keep the battery from rattling around. It was a bit too snug, so I trimmed the foam so it's a perfect fit with no noise. The drum mag(good robust build quality) holds around 500 bbs, and must be wound to keep bbs fed into the gun. I'd say winding is done every 50 rounds fired. It does have the BAXs system that is basically a little dial you adjust to control bb spin-up and range, which is a nice practical feature. The rear site also adjusts up and down for range as well. Overall I am very pleased with the functionality of this gun. It is on the heavy side, and it's not the most comfortable gun to aim with the sights, but it's very easy to hip fire, especially in full auto, and you will rarely have to reload the mag. My next gun will definitely be something lighter, maybe more compact, and REAL "full metal" and "real wood", because there is really nothing that compares to them. There are Thompsons that are real wood and full metal made by King Arms, this one is made by Cybergun, which has hit-or-miss quality. You get what you pay for.

I bought this gun not expecting much but when I received it and charged up the battery I had no idea how powerful. Shot mine at at a row of cans and it went through 2 of em

Clean and dented the third something fierce. Also has real wood stock and grip . All in all this gun is worth what you spend

5.0 out of 5 stars Epic gun!, August 8, 2011
This review is from: Thompson M1928 Full-Metal Body AEG airsoft gun (Sports)
This is a great gun. Shoots hard and accurate. But that's not all that matters. The fore grip, handle and stock are all abs plastic but that's fine. The disassembly is pretty easy all you have to do is flip the gun over and at the back of the gun there is a hole with a small button in it. Push down on the button (you will have to use a small screw driver to push the button) and pull the handle not too hard but hard enough. And you will see the gear box. I am not sure how to take the gear box apart but I know the gears are metal. To put the gun back together just slide the gear box back in. The stock is removable it is easy to unscrew but it is very hard to screw back in. When you take the gear box out there is a square metal thread for the shorter screw that is NOT solid. It moves if the screw is not in it when you turn it upside down but you can just glue that in. The semi auto does not work very well but that does not matter because it is a machine gun. This gun has never jammed and probably will never jam. The mag is very durable and metal. Obviously you have to twist it to get the bb's in to the barrel. Like I said this is a great gun very durable. It is all metal except the fore grip, handle and stock. But being all metal it is very heavy and awkward to carry around the field. ( But I think it's worth it)also it's a historical gun because it is a replica of what Al Capone and his gang used in 1928. Very epic gun and fun to use in battle. Overall I give this gun a 5 out of 5 star rating because it is full metal (including gears and gear box) easy to take apart. Removable stock. Ok weight for its size. And it's just all around epic.

Pros.

All metal

Metal gears

Metal gear box

Very good sights

Fun to use in battle

Cons.

Plastic fore grip, handle and stock (they should be wood but that's just my opinion)

Hard to get stock screw back in

Heavy

Awkward shaped

Nothing else I can think of.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Gun and Value, June 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Thompson M1928 Full-Metal Body AEG airsoft gun (Sports)
This gun is awesome. It is exactly as it is in the discription, and it is great when being used. Also it was due to ship about 2-3 days ahead of when it did, which was yet another plus. The only complaint that I have is the occasional jam on semi-auto. Yet, if you quickly fire about 3 shots on auto it will unblock itself and you can go back to the manslaughter at hand. So overall I would just like to reinforce how great this gun is, especially compared to others.
