Best All Around,

This review is from: Thompson M1A1 Full-Metal Body AEG airsoft gun (Sports)
i am an avid intermediate airsoft player and i have had my share of airsoft guns and AEG's. throught my 5 years of airsoft i have not come across a gun better than the Cybergun Thompson. it is beautiful, the design is flawless and the internals are top of the line. the only plastic parts of the gun are the "wooden" parts or the stock, grip and hand rail. everything else is metal. it shoots about 380fps with perfect hop up. the best part is its accuracy. its ridiculously accurate. i suggest buying white BBs for any airsoft gun in general so adjusting the hop up isnt a pain. basically if you aim at something you will hit it.
PROS: great internals, great feel, accuarte as all hell, easy access hop up, full metal, can house a large type battery and small type battery. CONS: only about 700rpm(still not bad), need two hands to take out mag(easily fixable with some vasaline)

I love this gun!,
This review is from: Thompson M1A1 Full-Metal Body AEG airsoft gun (Sports)
I have two ar-15 style airsofts(UTG and KWA--oh yeah), an mp-5 style(Crosman), a pistol and this Thompson. This is probably the best of the group. It is the most accurate--yes, it is more accurate than the higher-end KWA. Some of the others guns don't fire at times and need to be moved between auto and semi-fire modes to resume shooting--read your gun clicks, doesn't shoot and your buddy locates you and inflicts a painful punishment making your scream "I'm hit, quit shooting me!" The Thompson has the buddy screaming instead.
The gun is well made, solidly built and looks mean like the original. The only drawbacks are that it has long range capability, but no scope ability--but this is like the original, so deal with it. Also, although the sight is very easy to use, it is only marginally adjustable. The rear sight has a hole sight and a notch on top for two range sighting and it can move up and down and slightly side to side. Mine however, does not adjust down as far as necessary for close shots, making the shot higher than aimed. Hop-up is adjustable on this model so further adjustment may resolve this, but I prefer to be able to make those long range shots so I simply compensate. Mine came standard with a 47 round magazine, not a high capacity. In auto mode the shots go quickly and you will want a high-cap magazine. Some packages come with a drum so that would resolve this issue. These drawbacks are very minor and not worth removing a star. The gun's accuracy is not affected. For airsoft, it put the shot as close as possible to the same spot every time. Finally, this gun is just fun to shoot. It aims fast, shoots fast, feals great in the hand and looks great. Buy it and have fun.

A true testament to the Thompson M1A1 Submachinegun,
This review is from: Thompson M1A1 Full-Metal Body AEG airsoft gun (Sports)
Just a note on the name: this is a shared account so ignore the name
Now I have had this product for two years now and may i say it is one of my favorite all time airsoft guns. This overall is a great gun. AMMO & MAGAZINES: It includes a 600 round hi-cap stick magzine. This magazine is full metal and very simple to use, the only draw back to this hi-cap mag is after 250-300 shots you have to wind the gear at the bottom of the magazine, no worry though because it only requiers 6-7 spins of a dial the size of a quarter. It is also extreemly easy to find extra/replacement magazines for this gun. There are three types of replacement magazines: The standard 600 or 300 round hi-cap stick magazine (Identical to the one that is included)or the more realistic 40 round low-cap magazine, I happen to be a big fan of this magazine partially because I play alot of real/Milsim events that require realistic magazine capacity's. Or if you want to get even more fire power, and that John Dillinger look there is the Cybergun 100 round electric wind drum magazine, when I am not playing at a mil sim event this is my magazine of choice, this mag beats the stick mag on every level, it has a higher ammo capacity and you do not have to wind it. One disadvantage to this magazine is you can really only carry one due to is circular shape (unless you forgo a tactical vest and use a messanger bag/ stachel to carry your ammo as a friend of mine does). Also a note: ONLY USE 20.GRAM BB'S YOU WILL ONLY GET JAMS AND CRACKED SHOTS OTHERWISE. Fire Power: Now on the box it will say 350 fps (feet per second) but using the stock battery and my chronorapgh I have reached 400 fps, which is amazing, especially for a fully auto weapon like this. This gun also has a great ROF which I have yet to mesure. I have tested this gun at up to 175 feet and I am able to get a spread about three inches across, which again is great. This gun is pinpoint acurate, and because of the hi-cap magazines you will not burn your ammo. Looks: This gun looks like a beuty, A friend of mines father recantly purchased a legal Thompson semi-automatic (because civilians can only own semi-auto weapons) and side by side these guns are identical, down to the trademarks. This gun has semi akward iron sights, personally i like them but i know people that dont. The only disagvantage to the gun is unless you are about 5'6-7(so almost every one) you will have a hard time looking down this weapons sights, because of how the stock is set. Pro's: High mag capacity All metal and wood easily replaced magazines hop-up 400+ fps great ROF amazing looking acuraate at 175+ feet Con's: Semi-akward stock NONE

God-gun,
This review is from: Thompson M1A1 Full-Metal Body AEG airsoft gun (Sports)
You have to get this gun it shoots 480 fps with .12g bbs and 390 with .20g bbs. it shoots farther than any gun i have ever seen way past like 100 yards. The gun itself weighs as much as a real thompson would. the high cap mag is amazing! but it only holds like 400 bbs, but overall i love this gun! It can shoot through 3 soda cans in a line its incredible i always leave my friends with nasty welts!
AMAZING!

First, this is not Lloyd, but his son.If this review is too long for you, skip down to the bottom for the important stuff. When I first heard about airsoft, I thought it sounded kind of stupid. The only wars I had been in were with slingshots and pumice balls, and the only airsoft guns I had seen were cheap Walmart pistols. When my friend invited me to an airsoft war, I figured I would kick some trash, being able to shoot ten times as far as the guns I had seen. To my surprise, I did not go up against little 5-shot pistols, but big 400-shot fully automatic Kalashnikovs, the kind they use to hunt bear (or so I thought when ten hit me at once). As I dragged my beaten carcass home, I determined to get myself a good gun. Problem was, I didn't know the difference between a Kalashnikov automatic and a made-in-China plastic spring. I researched all I could, but still could not find the gun I wanted. I didn't know which sites to trust, or how to get a good price. Finally I decided to just buy the gun that looks the coolest, which is a very bad thing to do. Luckily, the gun that caught my eye was the Thompson M1A1 Full-Metal Body AEG, and I have not been disappointed. The package only took five and a half years to ship, or so it seemed, and the moment it arrived I tore the gun out and started shooting everything in sight. It was then I discovered one big problem. I needed to buy ammo for it! All I had were about ten .12g BBS I had shaken out of my skin after the last war. These would not work, however, and I had to wait another agonizing 2 days until I could go buy some ammo. The gun finally loaded, I tried yet again to shoot it. I then discovered that the battery needed charged. After staring at the wall for five hours, I readied my gun for the last time. After praying that it would work, making a number of promises about not shooting my sister/sister's cats, I pulled the trigger. Liking the feel, I turned it off safety and pulled again. I pointed it at a wall and held down that wonderful lever of destruction, pumping every ounce of that nine pounds, every foot of that 450fps, every BB of that ten shots per second, all into the wall directly in front of me. The resulting shrapnel that was embedded into my skin will forever remind me of the joy I felt that day. I have always been impressed with this gun, and it has been able to hold its own against Kalashnikovs and other nice AEGs. The wood imitation looks very real, so real in fact that many people have asked how I got a gun with a wood stock for so cheap. The power is very good, a nice 450fps with .12g ammo. Although it decreases the fps, I would suggest using .20 and .25g ammo, this increases the accuracy greatly. The ROF (Rate Of Fire) is kind of low, only about 10 BBS per second, but this only means that it conserves ammo better. I have, multiple times, beat people with more expensive or nicer-looking guns. All of this being said, I will skip to the points: PROS- Nice power--450fps .12g, (I've killed birds with this gun!) Realistic--Don't take off the orange tip when you bring it to the library! Good accuracy--Hit body-sized target from 70 feet easily (with .20-.25g) Hi-cap mag--390BBS Comes with a strap--easier carrying and running Has separate switches for safety/fire and auto/semi. CONS- Kind of heavy-9lbs No rails/accessories. Hard to aim with WARNINGS: Do not hold down the trigger for more than five seconds, the motor will overheat (I know this from experience). Always wear eye and mouth protection in wars (a friend of mine got his tooth shot out). Do not let your friend shoot this gun point-blank into your leg, it will hurt (I also know this from experience) Do not shoot at a wall directly in front of you. Overall, this gun is a great buy. Whether you need something to kick some butt in wars or just a gun that's cheap be trigger-happy with, this might be the gun for you. UPDATE 11/23/11: I am now much more experienced in airsoft, but still like the gun. Although I no longer think it is 5-stars, I believe it deserves a 4.5 at least. I'll just go over a new por/con lis. New PROS: -Fps is decent, chronoed at about 380 with .12 gram, 340-350 with .20 and 320 with .25 -Accuracy is good; I trust it enough to shoot the gravel up at my friends without hitting them, at about 20-60ft. I don't have the patience (or iron-sites*) to do an actual grouping test -ABSLUTELY NO CLEANING OR UP-KEEP REQUIRED. Unlike most airsoft guns, this gun does not need cleaning after every use, silicon spray, or replacement parts. It is thus a great beginner gun. NEW CONS: -range is kind of low. In reality, this gun does not shoot great distances. Any G&G, Echo1, JG, or other such gun can easily out-distance it. In other words, if you are the type to sit and shoot, the gun may not be the best. If you are like me and rush people, well, it will make anyone want to run. -sites are kind of hard to aim thru, and the back one can get shot off easily. This gun, because of range and because of sites, is generally not great for aiming. I usually shoot from the hip, so it may or may not be a problem. MEH -ROF is only about 12bps. This is a tiny bit too low for me, so I put a 8.4 1600 in it and its shooting a decent 15-18bps now. NEW conclusion: This is a great beginner gun, no mainenance, decent power, etc. It is good for mid-field range (great for forrested areas) and firing-from-the-hip/spraying. It does not have good range, and is difficult to aim.

This gun is not overpriced. It is the most accurate AEG that i have ever possessed, its is actually 466 fps, the wood is plastic but no one could tell that its plastic, its such high quality it seems like real wood. The clip is high capacity, though i would recommend getting a drum clip. 1/1 scale, 7.5 pounds, and exact Thompson designs.
PROS: -Replica -Accurate -Clip amount/clip variety -Semi/full -Fair price -Comes with sling CONS: -Full scale Thompson, so its hard to put up site if your below 16ish. -difficult to take clip out, but does not take 2 hands! (always pull lever and its slides in/out easily) The cons are minor and my rating stays at 10/10.

The airsoft Thompson m1a1 is by far the best gun I've ever used. I've been playing airsoft for about 6 plus years so i have used a wide range of airsoft guns. I currently play among 20 other players every month, and i always dominate with the thompson. the thompson is an overall great gun, the only bad thing is is that the battery it comes with is very week so that's why people complain about the rate of fire. i would recommend the "Tenergy 8.4v 1600 mah" battery, its rate of fire goes from the mid 500's to 650+ shots per minute..as for strength, lets just say at around 100-150 feet away, you will still leave a major welt, (I even made a friend cry once... he's 19). as for accuracy, i lined a row of 10 empty soda cans, measured out exactly 100 feet, and fired left to right... hit 9/10... 4 went completely through both sides and exited out the other side of the can, 3 of the cans had a BB bouncing around inside it, and the last 2 made a lovely dent. as for the last can, it got lucky...

Best gun I ever had! I shot it at my friend 50 ft away it made him bleed. This gun is awesome!. It goes about 420 FPS with .12 bbs and 360 FPS with .20 grams. Best gun ever! Full metal except for the hand grip. The wooden part looks wood but its plastic but it is hard to tell. The magazine that it came with holds 300 high cap magazine not the low cap 56 round one, which I'm happy about. Overall I give it 5/5
