This is the second amplified phone that I purchased for my father but the first one that he used. He loved this one because it is cordless and has caller id. The big buttons and loud ringer was a plus. It works with hearing aids. Would recommend this phone to anyone who wants to have a conversation with a loved one who has a hearing aid. Well worth the money spent.

Thought this product would help elderly family member. He does not even use it. I used it on about 4 occasions. At each use you have to adjust the volume and tone control. This is pretty distracting while you're having a conversation. People on the other end tell me I sound like I'm in a cavern. The extra handset, item GE29110AE1 is just as bad. Being too efficient I sent in the product registrations right away, so even though I have the boxes, etc., I can't return them. I will think twice about buying products from third party merchants from now on.

I bought this phone (base phone #29111AE1), as well as an extra handset(29110AE1) for my father who is quite hard of hearing. Both phones have worked wonderfully! My father can again have a conversation on the phone without constantly saying "what?" or "say that again, I didn't hear you right", ultimately handing the phone off to my mother because he couldn't understand what was being said. This phone has been a blessing, allowing Dad to have a more normal life, by simply being able to talk on the phone. We have been very pleased with the phones, and have had no problems at all with them. The ringer is very loud, even on the lowest setting. He does have to adjust the volume and tone to his needs each time he uses it, but that's okay - it's a small price to pay, and others using the phone don't get blasted when they use it. I would have bought the same phone with the answering machine (#29115AE1), except that it didn't have an audible beep for the messages, which I think is a nice feature and my parents also like, so they kept their old answering machine that has that capability. I purchased this for my 87-year-old mother, who is fairly hard of hearing. She previously had to turn on her old handset's speakerphone and place it against her ear to hear everything in a conversation. With this phone, she can now hear very well even at the lowest enhanced volume setting, with just an occasional adjustment of the tone control. She is absolutely delighted with the phone.

This phone is truly a miracle! For the first time in years,my husband has been able to speak on the phone comfortably. I am so grateful to GE and Amazon. It is very easy to program, it is easy to adjust volume up or down, it is a wonderful phone! I recommend it to anyone, but it is especially important for the hearing impaired.

My employees couldn't hear my phone over a busy bight but this one is REALLY LOUD.
