Product Description

Thomson machined the Elite Seatpost tube and head out of a single piece of 7000 series aluminum. It's not bonded, pressed, or welded. This gives it maximum strength and minimum weight because there are no joints. The natural ellipse bored inside of the tube provides added thickness where strength is needed and removes material where you don't need it.

Strong well-designed seatpost. Got this for my vintage Trek set up along with a new saddle. Admittedly, a lot newer than the vintage gear on it, but the machining and look is great. This is obviously not some cheap throwaway, but a quality bit of machine shop work. Also, it needs to be functional, and this post has a terrific machined top that makes angle and lateral adjustment of the saddle a breeze. The one it replaces relied on a couple of set screws to push against all of the force of the rider in the saddle. Always managed to wiggle loose, and was never easy to tweak the saddle position. Not so here.

Refurbished my old Panasonic bike that had a 26.6mm seat tube. Not very common. Could only find a quality seatpost in that size from this maker. It cost a bit more than the others, but I think it was worth the money. It is much lighter than my old seatpost, it is made of high quality material, and it includes a numbered scale that allows you to set precisely the angle of the seat on the post. Well thought out design. Very pleased with the purchase.

I upgraded my stock seat post and i heard Thomson was the best and i heard right it is so light the seat and my seat post combined weigh less then my old seat post and it my seat doesn't slide and its so comfortable i would recommend this to anyone!
