I picked up a pair of the Thor 50/50 boots in March. I am a 10 1/2 and these come in whole sizes so I went up to the 11. Good fit and not to loose with wool socks(Defeet Woolie Boolie). The gray is discreet with just a flash of red on the buckles to give away they are more than a regular boot. The straps are a simple cam over design and the tension adjustment is thru a set of teeth in the fixed end of the strap, so once you get the tension where you want it it is the same every time you lock the buckles The 50/50 has been comfortable enough for me to wear, standing up, all day at work. They also allow enough ankle movement to shift and brake while still offering protection for your ankle. Not MX boot level protection, but way more comfort.
I have put about 3000 miles of road riding on them and they still look nearly new, just light marking on the upper. My pegs are serrated and they have yet to make a mark in the sole.
While the 50/50s are not waterproof, they do handle light rain no problem. The two down pours I have put them thru, the boots managed about twenty minutes before I noticed my feet getting wet. Put in front of a fan, they dried overnight.
I did manage to break one of the straps, by catching it, unbuckled, and bending it over double. That was my bad. The problem came in trying to find replacement buckles. Every supplier has been out of stock for the last couple of weeks, so if you find some in stock get a couple(They are pretty cheap, $5). The straps also come in different lengths, so be sure to check the number on the strap before you order some.
All in all a great boot for the money, if they made it with a 12" or 14" upper I would get a pair of those as well.
