5.0 out of 5 stars Great Socks
My husband loves playing basketball in these socks--great padding, soft, etc. Just be careful about what size you choose when you order them. We got size 11 because my husband has a size 11 foot. WRONG! The size 11 socks are size "medium" for foot size 5-9. He needed a sock size 13 so we had to return and order them. It technically says that somewhere, but you wouldn't...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a good walking sock
I don't play basketball, I just wanted a nice thick sock to wear with my fairly wide walking shoes. These socks are so heavily padded that my toes complain when I wear them. The manufacturer suggests wearing them with shoes 1/2 size larger than normal. I'd rather buy socks that fit my shoes then the other way around.

Support & comfort - I have a hard time explaining how I can spend $15 on a pair of socks. No one believes me when I try to explain how they cushion and support an old man's basketball feet. I finally started giving them my used socks to try - and they were converts.

These socks were a present for my husband. He loves them. They feel great and have lots of padding. Our only complaint is that they are VERY expensive.

1.0 out of 5 stars Comfy but..., September 1, 2011

These socks have a lot of cushion and is very comfy. The only major downfall i have with these sock is that they don't stay in place. I feel the sock move from side to side when im playing. They move so much that after i take off my shoes after playing basketball it looks like i wore them sideways. It actually caused me to injure my achilles heal. Luckily it wasn't too serious. I would return these socks if i could but it's too late.

Picked these up after getting a blister while working in a new pair of shoes with a pair of thinner socks.. Good, thick socks that have held up to 3X a week washings for a couple of months now.

5.0 out of 5 stars They do make a difference, April 17, 2010

I play about two hours of hard, full-court basketball one night per week. The floor itself is made of some kind of tile, and it's unforgiving. My feet always used to hurt terribly after games--and usually stayed hurting for a couple of days--so I decided to give these socks a try. I've been using them for close to two months now, and my feet feel much better. In fact, during the course of a game I don't even pay attention to the way my feet feel. The extra padding also makes my shoe fit more snugly, so my toes don't get jammed as much and I'm not getting aggravated/ingrown toenails anymore, either.

I wonder how long these songs will last, though I suppose if you air-dry them as instructed they'll hold up longer.

In the end, the socks are worth the money. I can feel a difference, so if your feet hurt from all of the pounding, perhaps these socks will be a solution. I found that they are more effective than a slip-in insole that I purchased as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars always love Thorlo, March 27, 2007

I bought these socks because the basketball type has a lot of Achilles tendon padding, which I sometimes need. They seem good in this regard.
